Good morning all. Off to work in a bit. @Ladybird4 just to say all doctors and pharmacies are really concentrating on blood pressure testing at the moment and there is a financial bonus for getting patients to have a monitor for a few days so you probably don’t have anything to worry about they will be persuading anyone and everyone to have one. At our pharmacy we are offering blood pressure testing to anyone over 40 not on hypertension medication its our newest “promotion”
  • Morning @debs64 and all to follow.
Our Drs or pharmacy unfortunately isn't doing anything like that Debs. Think your area is luckier than ours. Hope you have a good day at work and customers are polite.
A very dark damp morning. But doesn't look like it's rained overnight.
Need to post an anniversary card this morning.
    Need tea.

Good morning debs, SGL and all to follow.

The weather is the same as at SGL. Very dark and it's raining. Cold storm will come next weekend and it's huge possibility of snow in hills. What to say about that change. Weather is very extreme this year. I have my tea and school start at 9.

    Wish you all lovely day.

Good morning Debs, SGL and all later arrivals. Dark and damp here too SGL.
Busy, what a wonderful find with the glasses yesterday. Over many years from when I first started working, I gradually bought Mum and Dad sets of Waterford Crystal glasses - in twos until I had collected the six I considered a full set (other crystal available BTW) and a decanter. These all came back to me and I use them regularly. I am not 'precious' about them (like Hyacinth Bucket and her Royal Doulton!) but sometimes my friends are a bit nervous when I bring them out. The particular design I bought is the one called Colleen. I have 43 pieces altogether which reside in my Welsh dresser. I do like nice glasses. One confession - the liqueur glasses are a waste of space!
@debs64 thank you so much for your reassuring words. They have made me feel a little less twitchy now about wearing this sphyg.

Good morning everyone . Debs I didn’t realise there were perks for promoting certain tests .
I really don’t know what to think of that . I hope you have a good day at work .Lily how is your OH today? Enjoy your tea .Ante take care don’t work too hard .
Missed you there LB . I bought  (over time ) Royal Albert Country Roses for my parents .Eventually they had a cabinet full and used them regularly when they had guests .

Hello folks … glad you’re feeling a bit better @Rubee … hope you (and everyone else) had a good night. My arms a bit sore and I’ve got a bit of a headache but otherwise I’m fine.
What a great find @Busy-Lizzie … the charity shops in Swold often have some really nice stuff. The ones in Aldeburgh are good too.
Great to follow @Topbird’s adventures 😎 I’ve never been very afflicted by actual wanderlust  … but do enjoy a bit of vicarious adventuring. 😊
Have a good day everyone …

Good morning Ante, Ruby and Dove.
Ante, I think we British are having a bad effect on you ! You have caught the 'lets talk about the weather bug!' We lot love talking about it! Just don't start joining queues because (alledgedly!) we love doing that too. I hope school goes well today - at least it isn't Monday!
Ruby, you just brought a memory back. My aunt had a huge collection of Royal Albert Country Roses. Lovely to look at but you would need a least 4 cups to make one of today's mugs of tea.

  • @Ladybird4 don’t you think that much of our modern crockery is bigger than a couple of generations ago? Certainly soup dishes and dinner plates are … no wonder many people are too 😉

    Morning all.

I have Waterford glasses at my home in France, LB, mostly wedding presents. They sit in a glass fronted cupboard and are hardly used. We used to use them at Christmas before the children left home. They are Kenmare, no longer made.

Today we are going out for lunch at a lovely French restaurant in Bury St Edmunds for my birthday, which is tomorrow but they were fully booked.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
