    Evening all,

I got a document entitled, "Your annual benefit statement 2021/22 for your pension savings" in the post today, which claims it is a summary explaining how much money is in the pension, the charges I pay and how much money I could have on the date I plan to retire. It contains precisely none of those figures :oย

I do love how the world constantly changes for the better and the progress that we've made :Dย

Oh wow Ante. She is one of my very favourite presenters on gardening programmes. She is very down-to-earth (see what I did there! ) and talks sense. I could listen to her all day. That is excellent service though - such quick delivery. Once you have done your shopping tomorrow night the weekend will be all yours!
The world of bureaucracy will remain forever a mystery to me Biglad.
My car is being picked up tomorrow to have its rear shocks replaced. I do hope that they don't take all day over it.

We've just come back from Bury Saint Edmunds, having had a delicious leisurely lunch followed by a wander around town and a visit to M&S where I bought a pair of slim flared jeans that actually fitted, some pretty knickers with lacey bits and 2 tee shirts for OH. I wear jeans all the time in winter, spring and autumn and when they get tatty they become gardening jeans.

Must tell you about my dessert. It looked like something from Great British Menu. It was a perfectly shaped rosy apple made from a thin white chocolate shell covered with a red apple flavoured glaze with apple mousse inside and a core of caramel and hazlenuts.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Yay Busy! I am glad someone else other than me lives in jeans. That dessert sounds exquisite. Did you not take a picture of it Busy? To make us all jealous. Mind you, your description has done that anyway.

No photo, LB. OH suggested it but I would have been too embarassed. โ˜บ๏ธ

Evening all. We're now up in the Netherlands ready to catch the ferry tomorrow lunchtime. Should be home for about 10pm so not too bad but a bit of a day of hanging around.

BL - glad you had a nice lunch. I assume that was at Maison Bleu? - a nice restaurant. Only been a couple of times but it's a favourite amongst friends.

Lucky find in S'wold yesterday. We have a cupboard full of glasses and I think we probably only use about a dozen of them while the rest just gather dust. We don't even use wine glasses these days - just use the small thick tumblers they often have in small french restaurants. Much more practical - less easy to knock over, plus the wine servings are smallerย plus they go in the dishwasher.

Ante - enjoy your book. I also like the down to earth style of Christine Walkden.

Never mind I had a lovely holiday although the flights left a lot to be desired.ย  On the way out we had a burst tyre on landing.ย  On the way back due to a problem with the air con and therefore cabin pressure we had to fly lower than normal which meant we used more fuel and had to divert to Stanstead for a refuel.ย  All in all, it took 12 hours from the Hotel to our house.ย  We arrived home at 4.30 a.m.ย  Have spent most of the day in activities that involved water and washing powder.
I have read back to see what you have all been up to but can't remember much.ย  Hope everyone is OK.

Welcome home Yvie and nearly welcome home T'Bird. Oh no Yvie! What a greeting you got with a speeding ticket. Will you have to report to the 'naughty school' for drivers?
