  • Thank you everyone, very kind.
He's feeling very tired today. But a little better.
@debs64 you're lucky to have sweet peas to pick. Mine were rubbish this year.
Hope your OH is feeling a bit better today @Rubee.
@Busy-Lizzie how is your OH. Hope all things are going well for his operation.
@Ante1 enjoy browsing through the catalogue for fruit trees. Which ones are you going plant this year?
The fog has lifted and we have lovely warm sunshine. Have done a few unmentionables this morning, nearly time for lunch.
    Have a lovely Sunday everyone.

Thank you for asking about my OH. He still doesn't have an operation date but he has a meeting with the surgeon on the 4th October at an NHS hospital. He also has an appointment with the surgeon on the 20th September at the small private hospital but we are expecting that one to be cancelled. The private hospital had referred him back to the NHS as they didn't have emergency facilities, in view of OH's age, 80. There was a mix up and the NHS hospital thought he was a new patient, didn't realise that he's been waiting for his op for 2 1/2 years, so they put him on the bottom of the waiting list. The surgeon told them it's urgent. We are getting fed-up.

  • King Charles did very well on the day of the proclamation, Camilla and William too.  Lily a lovely poem, very respectful.  LB glad you enjoyed Canasta.  Hazel hope all went well gardening.  I’ve been pottering.  Ordered yogurts although small when arrived.  Waiting for meals and hand wash, etc.  I’ve been steaming clothes and had a cauliflower cheese crisp bake for lunch.  About to put the kettle on.  Enjoy the rest of Sunday.  Ante hope all is going well.  A sunnier day today after Autumnal weather.
  • Oh @Busy-Lizzie I'm so very sorry to hear that, do hope that the appointment on the 20th goes ahead. Really hope he's not in too much discomfort. Its very frustrating waiting so long and worrying. Take care, sending a hug.
@wfnp5bk4spsSNFYKh1 King Charles did do very well. Must be very  hard so early after his mother's death.

    Afternoon all,

I've done a nice stint outside. Mowed the back lawn and put some plants in the borders. I don't do myself any favours reducing the vast array of potted plants waiting for a home though. Spent a while wrestling apart a bergenia to make 2 plants so one went back in the pot and the other in the ground. Net result to the pot count? NIL :D

Having a rest and a watch of the cricket. Which probably means I'll be in the CA for a while ;)

Afternoon all. Have just finished lunch after a pottering sort of day including a session of Lily's TV.
I was so sorry to read that your OH has a chest infection @star gaze lily. Fingers crossed that the anti biotics do their magic stuff very soon.
@Busy-Lizzie, nice to hear that you had an enjoyable afternoon and evening but you still have the frustration of wondering about your OH's op. Honestly, sometimes the ineptitude of the powers that be leaves you horrified. Thinking your OH was a new patient - there are no words!
Rosie, cauliflower cheese yum yum yum. One of my very favourite meals.
Ante - I'm on my way - after I've stopped off to help Rosie eat her cauliflower cheese!
@Biglad, I expect we might have to wake you up later on.

Afties all. After a very cold start the sun has come out and it's really warm, lovely.
We've spent some time, tidy and re-tidying the couple of borders that have been rather trashed with the fence  chaps, our new Heuchera Apple Crisp, has been totally flattened into what looks like a mud bank, looks terrible, I've done my best with it so I'm just hoping it comes back next year. OH has put up a nice six foot trellis and a new arch we ordered, has been built and put near to the trellis. Then, clematis montana went under the arc and a new Jasmine Sunbeam,, up the trellis. I can envisage what it might look like, hope it does!
Ante,mI can just imagine, too, your new orchard of fruit trees, they will be magnificent.
SGL, I'm so  sorry to hear your OH has got a chest infection. Our son is coming down with a cold( he always gets one really badly) , not as bad as a chest infection, but feeling low. I hope your OH's meds start working soon and will start easing the tightness across the chest and ease his breathing. Plenty of fluids and rest.
Had a visit from son and 23 this morning. Not as mad as normal as 23 was showing us his Tik Tok account and some of his antics....he's 5........then the Lego came out.
LB, you've done well, clearing your loft out, it keeps the clutter down and easier to move about when space is made.
Rosie, your cauliflower cheese dinner sounds delish. One of my favourite meals too although I haven't  had it for years.

    Afternoon everyone.

LB, I'm waiting with freshly made apple juice.

Hazel, sorry to hear that some of your plants are destroyed. It will looks amazing with all work which you and OH done today.

SGL, I want to plant plums and apricot trees. I notice that seedling prices are much higher than last year.

Here is again sunny and warm. That odd feeling didn't gone and it's just weird.

Ante, how lovely to be able to grow your own apricots. I remember eating dried apricots when younger, and loving them. Still do in fact.
We are looking out for another rowan  tree now to put next to new fence. It will add a nice bit of height.
looking forward to watching Frozen Planet II tonight.
