That's good news @raisingirl, obviously things have moved on since I last had dealings with the Land Registry. Nice as well to hear that at least one government department knows how to be efficient. Wish the DVLA was, I keep putting off having to phone them and chase my renewal.
The market sounds fun @Busy-Lizzie, hope the fete goes well tomorrow and your journey back to Norfolk.
@Punkdoc, yes he is, thanks. Hasn't had to touch the morphine at all, just taking prescribed paracetamol and ibuprofen. Doing his exercises and wearing his stockings! Only problem is prostrate related which is a real nuisance and very tiring, especially in this heat.
A hot night … a bit restless so listening to the radio .., now I’ve woken feeling tired and a bit headachey … probably a combination of the heat and the stress of yesterday with the plumber and the leak etc. At least the leak has stopped … now to wait for the re-routing of the pipe …
Anyway … another coffee or two will soon put me right … then I’ll water the tomatoes cucumbers beans and squashes … the chard is behind the tomatoes and seems to be happy with sharing their water 😉
And I’ve not got a lot to do today … I might have a look at laminate flooring online … think we might only need one pack, two at most … mustn’t be too thick tho, or the door won’t open … anyone got any tips?
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
@Pat E my son and family have to drive past the fire south of Bordeaux to get to me this afternoon. The road is closed in places, they will try to find a country route to bypass it. So awful for the people who live near there.
I'm off soon to help with the fête in a nearby village, selling raffle tickets.
Son 1 and family will arrive later this afternoon. I hope their bedrooms won't be too warm. Windows were open all night, just shut them and the shutters. Thunderstorms are forecast for tonight. Hope there will be rain but not violence. A lot of houses in town and around are still covered with black polythene sheeting, because of damaged rooves from the hail tornado.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Beautiful outside at the moment, about 20C, about to have coffee and croissants on the patio. Due to be much, much hotter, later. We have christening drinks at one of the new neighbours tomorrow, have bought the little one the complete Winnie the Pooh stories. Good news last night, my BIL got engaged, I think that will be one massive celebration.
