Chive your mum will have enjoyed your food and company .Yvie how lovely that you saw your niece after such a long time .Portable air con must have come in useful recently . 40degrees plus in the garden. .
I'll go tomorrow to the cottage, today is whole day for resting. Despite temperature I had a perfect time so far. I'm watching Poirot whole time, from first episode in a row. It was on the news that in Heathrow is over 40℃. Hope you are all safe and stay inside. Forecast for my part of world is not encouraging. At least ten more days hot with small possibility of rain next Wednesday.

Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
It has stayed relatively cool in the house (mid 20's) to the extent I thought it was quite cool in the sitting room. So I opened up the bifolds about 20 minsago. Schoolgirl error! Gust of hot air and it's now a (not so balmy) 31C in there. The rest of the house will be staying shut up for couple of hours.

I enjoyed the Rose Group meeting. Only 5 ladies turned up but they were all nice, my sort of age group, some had had horses, most had dogs and/or cats and they all loved roses. Our hostess showed us round her garden and we sat under a tree and had tea with sandwiches, scones, jam and cream.
