    Thank you @Chivetalking
@Songbird-1 yes it's certainly better without the steam in your face. Just need an extension lead.

We've had rain, quite heavy and it's  certainly cooler. Hopefully we'll get more overnight.
Will say goodnight to you all, sleep well everyone and sweet dreams

A very good morning one and all. Well it rained here last night - not totally sure how heavily but it was nice to look out and see the diamond droplets beading the leaves.
My plants arrived safely yesterday and are nice - a little bit etiolated but a bit of daylight will fix that.
Hair done today at Bestie's. It needs it and I was smiling at yesterday's descriptions of various bed heads.
Chive - woo hoo. Last day today.
SGL, hope that your OH feels less tired this morning. Like Ruby's OH I don't expect that the heat helps either.
Seeing as how I haven't picked up my hot metal thing for over 5 years, I cannot see wild i*****g catching on with me - there are infinitely more interesting things to do outside.
Enjoy your days and I'll catch up with all your news later.

Morning LB & all to follow.
Think we must have had more rain during the night, the grass looks quite wet.
Glad your plants have arrived LB, I'm sure once planted and watered they will  perk up.
The hot flat thing is a job that has to be done LB 😉 it's just not quite so bad doing outside, especially on warm days 🤣
Thank you, he has physio today  so hope it's not too hot today.
Enjoy seeing your friends, hope haircut goes well.  Could you take mine with you please, I've woken up again with very wild hair.
    Need another cup of tea.

    Morning all.

It's cooler after the storm, 20° going up to 27° this afternoon.

I do the hot flat thing in front of the TV, sitting down. It would have been too hot here to do it outside recently.

I'm going to do some weeding in the veg garden then we are going to lunch in the local restaurant by the river.

OH goes back to Norfolk on Tuesday. Should be Wednesday but there is a train strike. He's had a letter from the small private hospital giving him an appointment with the surgeon on the 2nd August. The surgeon also works at the NHS hospital. I hope he can arrange something.

Must go and hang out the washing, sheets.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Morning Hazel, glad you slept better last night. Don't blame you wanting to make the grass area smaller. Wish we could do that with ours. But the garden is just too big.  Looking after grass is time consuming.
Have you thought of paving slabs instead, I know someone that had gravel put down.....it does look lovely, but even with the membrane they still get weeds coming through. You could have a 'shaped' paved area, doesn't have to be square or oblong.

Goodness it's getting so hot again 🥵
