Having posted your reviews and complained on here, with details, can I ask what you hope to gain by repeatedly labouring your point?  Are you expecting us all to agree with you that Suttons are awful, when that may not agree with our individual experiences?
What are you expecting or hoping to happen now?
"Labouring your point" 😂 I'm replying to people on a thread, who are replying to me.....Its literally a forum, silly sausage!

Can I ask, why are you so bothered about a Gardener, letting other gardeners know, about their bad experience with a Gardening Company, on a Gardening forum, but completely cool with a company taking payment for non-existent stock, and repeatedly lying to a customer?

A very peculiar hierarchy of concern!

I'll continue to reply, to replies, on a forum. Thanks all the same.
But that’s my point … you’ve not replied to my question … you’ve just repeated the same stuff. I asked what you want to happen next …

    @wombletid

Unfortunately Suttons were taken over by Thompson and Morgan (T&M) a company who's reputation is appalling which I can attest to from personal experience. I suspect T&M simply bought Suttons and now use the T&M management and delivery process that they have always used hence the hit and miss approach as to whether you are one of the lucky clients to have the order arrive in good condition or at all.

T&M used to post on these forums to defend or help with complaints but, I suspect the complaints became so numerous they have simply given up. One would have thought by now they would have reassessed there packaging and delivery processes to improve them, but by all accounts it would seem not.

Feel free to complain as much as you wish on these forums. These are a publicly funded forums owned and run (ultimately) by the BBC.

Making other gardeners aware of my experience, IS the end point. Its explicitly THE POINT.

However, I will continue to highlight my experience, each and every time someone oddly, and randomly, decides to take umbrage with that the fact that I had 'the audacity' to share my experience, of a Gardening Company.....on precisely a Gardening Forum.

Why this seems controversial to you, is astounding to me in its self. But each to their own!

Not controversial ... far from it ... not even unusual ...

If you put 'Suttons' into the Search on this forum you'll find that you're hardly a voice crying in the wilderness ...

Kili, thanks so much for this reply. Some very useful insight!

It seems to me, judging by some of the responses I've received, that T&M are still active on this forum, just not officially.
It explains why 'apparent members of the public' have attacked me for daring to complain, a very normal occurance for disgruntled customers, instead of being concerned with the actual actions of Suttons/ T&M.

    It explains a lot!!!

Oh dear, perhaps we are just more experienced and wearied than you, @wombletid. It's  very bad to get poor service from a company, but not very uncommon. As you feel very strongly, you are right to give fair warning but your next move might be to get onto trading standards or your credit card company.
We all think that all companies should give good service at all times. But they don't. I have had excellent plants from both Suttons and T&M and if they are slipping, they should up their game. But it would be a little harsh to condemn them for ever just on the basis of your one bad experience. They are not appalling,  your experience was appalling.

In which case, highlighting that in your initial response to my question "Has anyone else experienced....." would have perhaps been more appropriate.

Bad experiences with companies need to be called out, just as importantly as good experiences with companies. I do both. A specialist, community forum is precisely the place to do it!

And you've done it ... but others have had different experiences which are just as valid.

Fair point Posy, but I can only speak from my own experience. Thank you for sharing your more positive experience with them.

For me it wasn't so much the poor service or stock availability, its the catalogue of outright lies told, which I had to chase for the privilege of, with absolutely zero apology from them. I don't expect that from any company, and that is why I felt so strongly to complain.

As I've just said to someone else on here, bad experiences with companies need to be called out, as do good experiences, and a specialist, community forum, is the appropriate place to do so.

    All the best!

And at absolutely no point have I dismissed or invalidated other people's positive experience. Check all through the thread and point out where I have?

Unfortunately, plenty of people have done exactly that to my experience. They've suspiciously sought to invalidate it, without even offering an experience of their own. Where this happens, I'll continue to push back. My point stands, and I won't let anyone, again suspiciously, try to invalidated it!
