Several major fires in the countryside in rural East Anglia … one in the coastal edge  by Wild Ken Hill, several on farmland including one very near to Bro … I’m not going to phone … he’s stressed enough as it is … several homes have been lost.

It’s 26° here,  cloudy,  more than a gentle breeze but good for working in the garden.  The rain and thunder storm has cleared the air.

Hopefully our cool weather will blow up country,  will be 21° at most.

We’ve clouded over here now - so it’s obviously on its way east.  Sister endured 38 degrees in her classroom today - makes me feel positively cool.

I enjoyed the Rose Group meeting. Only 5 ladies turned up but they were all nice, my sort of age group, some had had horses, most had dogs and/or cats and they all loved roses. Our hostess showed us round her garden and we sat under a tree and had tea with sandwiches, scones, jam and cream.

There are clouds and storms are forecast.

It seems that London is burning all around.  We now have reports of a fire in the park round the the corner from us. There are multiple fires all around Greater London.

    Evening.

We have a delicious breeze here and the temperature has dropped considerably outside, but not yet upstairs. I’m off tomorrow so will stay in lounge catching up on some TV until later (with a high possibility of nodding off as I’m shattered).

    Take care all.
