    Morning all.

How exciting to see the whales @Topbird. I'm glad you are having a good time.

Planning a gardening day today to tidy up before going on Sunday. Our gardening lady is coming this afternoon to see what needs to be done while we are away.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Chive forecast is sunny (not quite there yet) with a 2% chance of rain so I am feeling positive.
Busy, it must be very exciting for you both to be going back to France.

Good morning SGL. I will take some pics once those fat buds have burst. Will you be having a little mooch in HB as well as picking up your loppers?

Sorry @Busy-Lizzie You weren't there earlier when I posted. You must be looking forward to going home to France with OH.
@Ladybird4 sorry  I forgot to say, yes OH thoroughly enjoyed the cricket. I did see some of it, great for  Bairstow and Stokes 🏏
Yes I'll probably have a bit of a mooch whilst collecting the loppers 😉
Morning 🙋‍♀️ @Songbird-1 be careful up the ladders 🪜

  • I had a few hours sleep and better for it.  Visited Rubee and oh and back to watch the tennis.  Chive I hope you enjoy your time in the sunshine with oh.  LB I do like your bog garden.  Lily how lovely to have a climbing hydrangea one of my favourites.  Hazel your marigolds are looking beautiful.  I’ve just popped the kettle on.

Good afternoon everyone. What a glorious splash of colour Hazel. Thank you for sharing.
Hello Rosie. Glad you feel better for your sleep today but hope this doesn't mean that you will be up at the crack of dawn baking bread again.

Good morning / afternoon everyone. You've all been busy little bees haven't you? It seems we are to get a bit of a heatwave at home (30C plus on Friday) so I hope you've all got lots of long cold drinks lined up to enjoy in the garden.

We got an extra hour last night due to a time zone change and have woken this morning to a lovely sunny day with glassy seas and a hazy horizon. As we sail past small islands it is all very reminiscent of sailing in Greece - which is not what we expected at all. Apparently we are exceptionally lucky with the weather - 13C and drizzle is the norm in these parts.

Have to collect some muck boots in a while so we can keep our feet dry when doing shore landings. They get cleaned and disinfected each time we get back on board to prevent the transfer of seeds and other biological matter between enviromentally sensitive sites.

I got it wrong about our itinerary today. We're going deep into the fjords to see forests and waterfalls - no glaciers. This is a Norwegian ship and the scenery today will be very Norwegian too. Wish me luck transferring from the big boat into the little inflatable....
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
  • LB I hope so too.  Warm weather today lovely and sunny.  Don’t tell the colonel but doing some unmentionables.  It took me quite a pause to discover how to empty the vac.

Hi there T'Bird. That would fill me with trepidation - as I said before but I'm sure that you will be perfectly fine with lots of assistants standing by. I think that is an excellent idea about the boots. They are obviously very aware of the damage an accidental introduction can provoke - look at us with the wild rhododendron and Japanese knotweed.
