Evening all. Just finished a much needed huge mug of tea - cycling into a sea breeze is thirsty work! Granville Island was much as I remembered it & we enjoyed having a little mooch around the shops and market. Shame my bike was a bit rubbish - the gears were jumping all over the place when I changed down between 4th & 3rd. Quite dangerous really and made the few inclines we did encounter much harder work.
Hazel that little corner looks lovely now - well done you.
LB - have you considered seeing if you can get a converter for your pen so you can use bottled ink? They plug in like a cartridge to provide a reservoir for the ink but can be emptied and refilled hundreds of times . They are widely available online for around £5. I much prefer them to cartridges because you can just empty ink back into the bottle and flush the pen through with water if you want to change colours (which I do quite frequently). They also reduce the small amount of plastic waste associated with disposable cartridges.
Yvie - what a coincidence that you'll be experimenting painting with inks soon! I quite enjoyed doing loose washes with them and drawing detail with a fine black drawing pen.
Think we'll take a stroll along the sea wall soon - it's a nice sunny evening. Might find a pint and buy an ice cream...
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Hazel it’s looking very good, well done you and oh. Topbird do be careful travelling on the bike. I hope you enjoyed the scenery and your mooch round. Very handy comment about the converter for pens. I’m baking some bread at silly o’clock and having some tea.
Good morning all. Hope you got back to sleep @wfnp5bk4spsSNFYKh1although the smell of fresh baked bread would be lovely and would keep me awake.
Works hi s morning then Ikea I need some glass bottles as we are making litres of cordial this year from the two elderflower bushes in the garden. Ikeas have pretty ones not too expensive. Hazel what an improvement to the garden that corner is and I agree a seat there would be perfect.
@Topbird sounds like you are having a wonderful time. @Biglad can get into the garden this week the forecast is good here.
Good Morning Topbird, Bluebells, Debs and all to follow, Bluebells I hope you returned to sleep after the early morning baking, though much like Debs I would find the smell irresistible take it easy today, Debs Hope work goes well and you get the bottles for your elderflower cordial, it’s not something I’ve tried to make is it very complicated? I have lots of flowers on the Sambuca at the moment, Hazel An arbor seat would be a nice idea situated next to your new border, a lovely spot to enjoy the view, Topbird Hope you enjoyed the walk around the harbour and found a nice spot to enjoy a beer and an ice cream, Ante I hope everything is growing well at the cottage, pleased you had some time to rest later on it’s nice to see you, A nice sunny start here today, hope you all have a good day ahead.
Good to see you Ante. We have been doing our usual nattering so you might need a week to catch up! It was great to hear that you have managed to get a lot done at the cottage.
T'Bird, sounds like a bit of a scary bike ride to me - I'm so glad I have given up that pastime. Thank you for the information about the converter. I will certainly take a look into that option. Beer and ice cream mmmmmmmm!
Rosie, you were earlier than early this morning - I must have smelt the bread baking as I woke up about 03:00 but got back off to sleep thank goodness.
Debs, handy brother wants me to go to that Swedish flat pack store when he is looking for some furniture for his new house - he wants a second opinion. I'll take the opportunity to drag him round the Marketplace (is it still called that???) as well.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Morning everyone, Looks like it's going to be another beautiful day. Had another rubbish night's sleep, I'm so very tired and my get up and go has definitely gone at the moment. Having said that, I've already watered the pots in the back garden. Will do necessary things this morning, but otherwise will rest this afternoon. @Songbird-1 what a lovely idea, a seat or arbor will be perfect for that spot next to your beautiful new flower bed. @wfnp5bk4spsSNFYKh1 hope you managed to get back to sleep, although like others that lovely smell of fresh baked bread would probably be to good to resist. @debs64 hope work goes well. Hope you find the bottles for your cordial. Love Ikea, need to make a trip there soon. Our nearest one, is over an hour away. @Chivetalking are you seeing the little ones today. @Topbird hope you had a lovely evening walk and found somewhere nice for a drink and icecream. Need a cup of tea ☕

I came home an hour ago and now have some resting time. It's sunny and warm again, and I used this nice weather and worked at cottage.
Hazel, lovely photos. I didn't read back, just saw them. You made a beautiful corner there.
T'bird, you have an amazing view. I love to watch ships and sea.
It looks lovely @Songbird-1. You worked so hard on the horrid roots.
@Yviestevie Hooe blood test went well.
Saying night night too, sleep well and sweet dreams everyone
