Waving from gloriously sunny Norfolk 👋 … love Houghton Hall @Busy-Lizzie  … and they have wonderful exhibitions there too … but every visit is tinged with sadness for me as it’s the last place we visited with a dear friend … she had a headache that day … sadly it turned out to be a rapidly growing brain tumour … she only had a few months more …

But she was so positive … she’d hate us to be miserable … so onwards and upwards …

Have a good trip back to France  both? of you. Fingers crossed that the op isn’t too far away now.

Watering, then heading out for a walk, then the farm shop and back to the studio … have a good day all ….

Good morning everyone .Rosie I hope you slept well . This heat isn’t helpful when you are trying to get a good nights sleep .Chive I hope you will be able to relax at some point today ,it’s going to be too warm to work all day .LB I hope you have a lovely day today . I hope you have one of those hand held electric fans ,you may need it . I love the sun but today is going to be far too hot for me to be outside for long .Love the pick LB .Lily I woke at about the same time you did ,thought it was time to get up .Managed a few more hours sleep .
  • Lily you’ll enjoy seeing the poppets before Father’s Day.  Chive I can imagine that lunchtime is rather busy at school, lots of chatter.  LB enjoy your meal today with friends.  Yvie I’ve been to David Austin Enjoy.  Top bird have a good day sightseeing.  Having sixty winks as didn’t get much sleep.  Lily have a restful day.  Busy hope you hear re op soon after your return from France but better to have the facilities.  Dove enjoy your walk, sorry to hear of your friend.

Morning all (well it's bedtime for me) - looks like you're all in for a scorcher today. It's been hot here too and tomorrow is forecast for 29C which is very unexpected. Likely to cool down rapidly from Saturday though.

We had a fabulous day on the water. Exciting jetboat ride and we saw at least a dozen bald eagles, seals, sealions and the highlight was many sitings of sea otters and whales.

The sea otters are so cute but especially this time of year as there were several pairs of mother with cub riding on her chest. We also had many sitings of humpback whales including lots of spouting and some breaching. One was so close to the boat you could see the blow hole opening and closing.  Apparently their tails are nearly as individual as a fingerprint and are recorded for indexing and tracking. Our guides told us that we actually saw 6 different individuals multiple times. The best bit was tracking a cow and calf swimming together and diving / breaching in unison.

A magical day which will stay long in the memory bank.

    Morning all.

Your holiday sounds amazing @Topbird, so glad you hare enjoying it.

I'm sure you will enjoy David Austin's garden @Yviestevie. It's so beautiful. I bet you come back with a rose.

I'm going to the hairdresser this morning. I like my girl here, never like how they do it in France. Then to the SM to buy English things for my children in France, like Marmite, tea, golden syrup and pickled onions. They all want Bovril but it's been forbidden by Brexit.

This evening we are going to see a play by the local theatre group, dinner in village pub with friends first.

OH is feeling very low now that he still doesn't have a date for the op. But I'm glad he's coming back to France with me on Monday.

  • Top bird it sounds like an amazing holiday enjoy every moment.  Hazel it was good that your son could pop round before his hols.  Have a more relaxing day.  I’m not overly warm was expecting a scorcher.

Afternoon All, very warm but a nice breeze,
Dove Sorry to hear the loss of your friend, hope you’ve enjoyed your walk with OH today, maybe with a cold refreshment at the farm shop,
Rubee Hope you found a nice cool place to enjoy your day, I imagine it does make your OH more uncomfortable in the heat,
Rosie Hope you’ve had a nice siesta this afternoon, we kept our curtains closed indoors and it’s helped enormously,
Topbird Wonderful to hear about your amazing day out, the jet boat ride sounds like a lot of fun and seeing those sea otters with their young and the whales fantastic!
Busy Nice to get your haircut and take back some goodies for the family, hope you enjoy the show later on,
Biglad That’s another lovely atmospheric picture, are you a free agent now?
Hazel Hope you’ve been taking it easy after the planting was done, nice to see your son and a huge well done to him on passing the H&S qualification 👏 hope they have a lovely holiday,

Good afternoon all. I have had a lovely day today. 8 of us went for the meal. SGL, it wasn't Canasta today. That is on the second and fourth Friday of the month - so next week. This was just our monthly quiz meal, normally on the first Friday of the month but it was altered this time to accommodate people who couldn't make the first Friday. From next month we will go back strictly to the first Friday in the month and if any can't make it - so be it. You will have a fun filled day tomorrow with the Poppets.
T'Bird, it must be awesome seeing all of that wonderful wildlife - like Springwatch for real. I love seeing pictures/films of mother sea otters with their babies snugged up on their fronts. They look as if they have their own personal teddies.
    Love the mackerel skies Biglad!
congratulations wishes Congratulations pictures Congratulations gif Congratulations baby to your son Hazel. Of course you will be so proud of him - that is a real achievement.
Ruby, I think that I might need the fan on tonight. It is so very oppressive. I decided to get Lily's TV on when I got home so naturally the sun disappeared and it went very stormy looking just as I got the wet cloth things on the whirly. I am now in the starting blocks for rapid retrieval if necessary.
Have a good weekend Chive - no more small people until Monday!
Ante, I guess you might be off to the cottage again this weekend.

Hi folks,  Absolutely gorgeous day here.  Wall to wall sunshine and very hot with a lovely breeze.  Had a lovely time at David Austins, didn't buy a rose but liked the look of Centre Stage, just have to sort out a location.  Can't believe that rain is forecast tomorrow.
