    Evening all,

Hope Poppet and Great Nephew had great birthdays.Β  You're so right about time flying, I can't believe that my daughter will be 44 on Tuesday it only seems 5 minutes since she was 4.Β  She celebrated her birthday this weekend as she has to goΒ  to a colleague's funeral on Tuesday in Cornwall not a nice way to spend your special day.Β  We'll be staying over at Firstborn's to look after Merri and Mabel so they can go down tomorrow evening as it's quite a drive from here.
Glad you all had a good time @Ante1 they look like a nice crowd.
I've spent most of the day in the garden too Hazel.Β  Got lots done including summer pruning a lot of the roses, giving everything a good feed and washing the roots of one of the plants that got infested with ants.Β  It now has a nice new pot with lovely new compost.Β Β

It was nice and relax Sunday. Still boiling hot, but we live with hope it will soon finished. I'm going to read a bit more and go to sleep. Tomorrow is day for cottage and some hard work.Β

Glad you had a good time @Ante1. I have no idea what you look like, which one is your friend?

We visited a pretty garden and had coffee and cake on their terrace.

I finished weeding and planting the jewel bed. Amazing how it has come back to life after being so battered by the hailstorm and losing most of its flowers.

The garden was like this -

Now it's like this, shrub bed and jewel bed.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Goodness @Busy-Lizzie I can't believe the difference already, you and OH have worked so hard getting it back in shape. It looks beautiful, love the colours.
@Songbird-1 sorry to hear you've had such changeable weather. Hope you and OH didn't have to stay undercover for long. Love Heuchera, your new one sounds lovely, have you planted it in your new border.

We had a lovely day with the birthday girl, I hope she sleeps well tonight after all the excitement πŸ˜‚ πŸŽ‚πŸ¦πŸŽˆπŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

Bussy, that a tremendous transformation of your garden. Hard work. My friend is in the middle in black dress and has curly hair.

It's way over my bedtime, but I can't sleep. Too much resting during day.πŸ˜‚

Wish you all goodnight and sweet dreams.

Morning everyone, been up a little while, but did sleep quite well last night. The sun is shining and it looks like it's going to be another beautiful day.
@Ante1 your friend looks lovely. Like @Ladybird4 I thought you were standing on the left. But perhaps you are standing near your friend.Β

Good morning SGL and all to follow. Guess who had a horrible night last night with very little restful sleep. I feel wrung out this morning and intend to take it easy though I must start my annual wrangle with the mare's tail on my drive. I have been watching two cuttings I have had in glasses of water in my kitchen. One was a piece that had broken off my Heptacodium in transport and the other was a bit that had broken off one of my Gauras and both of them now have grown roots so one job today is to get them planted into some pots with free draining compost mix and keeping fingers crossed I have two more plants for free.
Busy, you have worked miracles in your garden - well done!
Yvie, I was saddened to read of your daughter's friend. We must all seize the day.
Hazel I hope that your rashes have subsided now and I think its a good idea to have gardening sleeves to avoid it happening again.

Morning LB, sorry you had such an awful nights sleep. Take it easy today and do the drive a bit at a time. Lovely that your cuttings have taken and you will get 'free' plants.Β
@Songbird-1 hope your arms feel less sore and itchy this morning.Β  Good idea to get gardening sleeves.Β
