Good afternoon Hazel. That is such a pretty garden ornament. I do have to say Hazel, that I have been mightily impressed with your long absence frrom painting so I think its only fair for you to go for it now.

Afternoon everyone, all went well with mum this morning they are pleased with how well she has healed. LB Thank you 😊 I have Lily’s TV primed and ready for action…if there is anything left to go in it 😉 Sounds like you’ve made a good start on the mares tail, doing it in stages might be better, hope Jack is ok when you speak to him,
SGL Thank you all went ok 😊 Sorry to hear you had a rubbish nights sleep, hope you got what you needed this morning and can have had a relaxing afternoon, Yvie Best wishes to firstborn a difficult day ahead for her, hope the girls have a good day at school, Hazel Lovely souvenir for the garden, glad the hand rail is all fixed in place now but oh no painting 🫢 hope it’s not going to be a lengthy job, Need to bring the bins back in and do some watering, have a nice afternoon everyone.
Hello all, didn't say hello this morning as I wanted to get outside before it got too hot. 27° today.
I've finished weeding the round rose bed, fed the roses, watered them added a thick compost mulch and watered again. The soil is very solid just there, clay, even though I dug in loads of compost and donkey manure before planting. The roses were very battered in the hail but they've started growing new leaves and shoots.
Then OH said he'd like to take me out to lunch so we went to a local restaurant down by the river, a lovely spot, tables on an outside shady terrace and we had a good but simple lunch, sweet peppers stuffed with tuna mayonnaise, pork fillet with mushroom sauce and rice, then strawberries with Chantilly cream. Only 16€, £13.75. I'd wanted to try it for some time but it was shut during the Covid lockdowns and OH hasn't been in France for a year and a half.
Then we went to the SM for the weekly shop. Watched Gardener's World (recorded) after we'd put the shopping away.
I've enjoyed today.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Hazel Thank you 😊 Son should have landed around 4.00pm but not heard from him yet I think there maybe delays, one of his friends parked his car at the airport so atleast they can just jump in once through and drive home. Oh no that sounds like the beginnings of a big job ahead, good idea to share the higher/lower sections with OH. Have a nice relaxing evening now, put your feet up 🛋 Busy What a lovely day you’ve had, so pleased your roses are recovering from the hail and the lunch by the river sounds superb very good value that’s one to return to 🙂 Hope Rosie is ok 👋
Evening all. I've just rung Jack and he told me that he didn't have his operation today. Apparently in his pre surgery check up they discovered he had an infection in his eye so he has been sent home with a bottle of antibiotic fluid to put in his eye 3 times a day and in a month they will recall him to see how he is doing. He's disappointed but is glad that they discovered the infection.
Hazdel I wasn't sure how long it was since you last painted. You didn't have a sneaky paint when we weren't looking did you? Anyway, it does sound as if you have a marathon session ahead of you but you love it really, don't you?
Busy what a perfectly lovely day you have had today. I am so glad that your blooms are recovering after that dreadful hail storm and your meal, as ever, sounds delicious and quite a reasonable price too.
Chive, I hope that you have heard from your son by now and all are safely back in the UK.
I am signing out for now. I, too, hope that Rosie is fine and that she is just having tech problems.
See all you lovely lot tomorrow. I am going to visit the lady I used to take to Canasta tomorrow afternoon and have a catch up with her. She asked me to print off a returns label for some shoes she bought on that famous auction site so I got that done for her. With her failing eyesight she has not bothered getting a printer now.
