Hazel well done to your son for removing the beast LBs happy dance is just right. I’ve been occupied with Lilys to and also thre my slippers in for a refres. I’ve even watching the triathlon in between spins
Evening all, Weather has been a bit changeable today. Managed to remove two small trees in between showers. Also tidied up the pond a bit and planted a couple of plants in the space left by the trees. Still have to decide what else to put there. The trees were shading the garden a bit too much so they had to go. Lots and lots of bees out there today.
Night night Hazel. Tomorrow you can plan your new planting area.
Well done Yvie, for shifting the two trees. You can also plan your new planting area. I think I need to take some overhanging branches off my Bird Cherry and Lilac in the front garden as, like yours Yvie, they are starting to cast shade further than I really want over the front.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
I am going to sign out for tonight. I hope that you all have lovely evenings, with no stiffness from all the gardening and eventually a restful night's sleep. See you all tomorrow.

Sorry @Ladybird4 - I was only out there for a couple of hours, I'll try and stay out longer in future, so that the sun stays out
I put one of the bigger plants I've got in the back border - the aucuba japonica crotonfolia (mainly because it's guilty of blowing over the most when the wind is up!) Problem is, the bigger the hole, the more old tree roots I come across That took a while so I only got one more planted before Dad Taxis received an urgent job
Afternoon all - well it is here anyway - even though you've all gone to bed. Maybe @Biglad is still up as he seems to work US hours. We still have quite a few hours to enjoy Gin Day - t'would be rude not to. That's if I make it to dinner time - jet lag is starting to catch up a bit....
We've had a pleasant morning mooching round a couple of good pen / stationery stores. We're both into fountain pens & different inks and we've bought a couple more really nice coloured Japanese inks and a new pen for OH which is going away until Santa pays a call later in the year.
Our hotel is very comfy and just over the road from the cruise ship terminal. Here is the view from our window. Always lots to see in a busy international harbour but Vancouver harbour has the added entertainment of helicopters taking off and landing and lots of little seaplanes doing both sight-seeing and sceduled trips. Lovely watching them take off and land on the water.
That huge cruise ship in the foreground carries 3600 passengers. Ours only carries a maximum of 520 but is currently operating at about two thirds capacity for covid. It will be tiny in comparison. Much quieter and nicer in our opinion - and we get to go to some special little places not accessible to the big boys.
Hazel - you did make me laugh with your typo. Not to worry - guess we're getting old and windy too😁🥳🤭
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
