    Morning @Chivetalking and @Rubee

Oh heck Chive, creeping jenny 🤦‍♀️ I've got a creeping plant at the front I'm forever pulling out. It's just leaves, no flower. And it winds itself around a hydrangea. Drives me mad.
Ruby glad you slept better, hope OH can catch up on some sleep.
LB, I'm really getting fed up of these sleepless nights. I'm so tired I feel I must sleep through tonight, yet I wake up after a few hours sleep 😫🥱
I'll pour us all another cup of tea ☕ ☕☕☕☕☕

    Morning all.

This morning we woke up to a power cut. I had a minor panic as here the cooking is done by electricity and OH wanted a bath and I wanted a shower and hair wash and the water heater had gone off. The leccy came back after an hour, thank goodness.

I hope niece and friend find the house, the road is closed not far from us on the north side. I think they are installing sewer pipes for some new houses.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • Good afternoon everyone.  I’ve had a rather long sleep and didn’t realise the time.  Luckily I put some extra food down last night.  Busy I’m glad the electricity is back on and hope your Niece finds you in good time.  The meal sounds lovely.   LB and Lily I hope your sleep pattern for tonight is somewhat better.  Lily the tea is very welcome.
  • Hazel glad you had a better night with the thicker curtains blocking the light  Enjoy your Happy Days dahlia.  I’m watching the tennis too

Good afternoon Busy, Rosie and Hazel.
Busy that is the last thing you need in a morning - no electricity. I'm glad that you were only inconvenienced for an hour.
Hazel, a good purchase at the DIY store. Love the sound of that Dahlia. The gold disc appeared in the sky about 14:30 this afternoon and it was glorious. I've managed to get a lot of weeding done and planting out. I wanted to get things watered in but Lily decided that the border was just the right place for her to sunbathe so I'll do it later. She has just meandered in for her tea so the coast is clear for the watering. I have just made a brew so will go out once finished. I am another tennis watcher and it looks lovely at Queen's.

What a gorgeous sunny day it is today. Our little solar fountain has been working it's socks off today, had to top the water up a couple of times.
@Songbird-1 your new Dahlia sounds lovely. Will look perfect amongst the other plants in your new flower bed.
@wfnp5bk4spsSNFYKh1 glad you managed to get some sleep today.
@Busy-Lizzie hope you've had a lovely afternoon with your niece.
@Ladybird4 sounds like you got that Alkanet out.
OH is watching the cricket 🏏
I'm relaxing in the garden  listening to the sound of the little fountain and the birds singing.

Finished in the garden for today - thoroughly enjoyed being outdoors for a change. I have been waiting 4 years for my climbing Hydrangea seemannii to flower so I was excited to see these big fat buds appear this year:
My other climbing Hydrangea - petiolaris has flowered already and is going over now:

Chive, it was a lot harder than I thought to get a picture of the bog garden because the plants have gone berserk. This was the best I could manage:
