The Dambusters practiced not far from here, at a local reservoir. Every year it comes and does a low pass over the reservoir, an amazing site. You can climb up onto the moors and be above it.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Lovely and quiet here, apart from the sound of lawn mowers or electric clippers (made me laugh about the Lavender trimming Hosta!).
We should be able to see a local Beacon tonight, if we walk up the street to the ‘view’. I don’t think OH will want to bother with anything ‘platty jubes’ related 😂
Afternoon folks, a sunny, peaceful day here after my usual walk this morning. Got back at 11 ish so watched Trooping the Colour on TV - I do like a nice military band and enjoyed seeing all the crowds down the Mall, absolutely packed! Celebrated with a lovely glass of Pimms just before lunch which actually made me quite sleepy so had to go have a snooze later Didn't feel very energetic anyway today and it will do me good to have a rest from gardening, my hands are really quite achey.
Wish we'd seen the Lancaster @Didyw, who waved the wand and made it happen? I love seeing the Red Arrows but they rarely come over here.
Enjoy the rest of the Jubilee weekend everyone whatever you're doing.
The Battle of Britain Flight forms up over Sole Bay off Southwold for the Buckingham Palace fly past. Pa used to stand on The Common and salute … when he moved to The Lovely Home the staff made sure he was outside to see them. For his first year there an old pal of his who had influence made sure they knew he was there and the Lancaster flew low over the Common and dipped its wing towards him. That made his year!
Bungay, where @didyw is, isn’t far from Southwold, and they’re pretty good at fitting a few ‘visits’ in on the way to where they form up, if they can. 😊

Woke early this morning, and got a lovely walk on the seafront while it was still quiet. Then off to the Donkey sanctuary for breakfast, followed by a second walk. Home via Waitrose, I can see why they opened on a Bank Holiday, it was surprisingly busy. After lunch, we relaxed for a while until we started dozing off, so forced ourselves to get up and put the curtains back up in the living room. Looks lovely and airy with the lighter walls and the newly painted ceiling. I knew the old artex made the ceiling look dull and dingy, but I’m amazed what an improvement plastering over it would make. So pleased with it, worth every penny getting it done, and every hour it then took us to paint it. I’m a very happy bunny! The Red Arrows often use Exeter Airport as a local stopover when they are displaying in the area. If we sit out on the patio, we can watch them fly over the house. We are both big fans of aircraft and air shows, and have been to lots over the years. Still miss the Vulcan, that was one impressive plane.

Hope the weather being kind to all.
