    Morning @Pat E
I watched about half an hour then went to bed.
My highlight was seeing the massive Devon flag waving from the middle of the crowd in The Mall.

Morning Hosta. It’s too cold here to do anything, so I’ve been flopped inside all day. Hubby spent the afternoon at the Fireshed for their AGM.

    Good morning all  😊 ☕️

We had to get up just after 4 and shut all the upstairs windows as an intruder alarm on a house across the way was activated by something … we looked and looked but could see no sign of activity … I presume the alarm company trigger some sort of response from someone but we saw nothing … it went off after 30 minutes and we got back to sleep.

When OH worked at the farm shop he was the ‘responder’ to the alarm and we’d get occasional phone calls from the alarm company in the wee small hours … we would get up and pull some clothes on and I’d drive him up to the shop and he’d have to go in and see what had triggered the alarm … usually nothing … just before the business was closed down there was a robbery on the night of the pre-Christmas ‘fayre’ with  … but there was something very suspicious about that … the takings weren’t usually left there  🙄

Now we’re awake … coffee has arrived thanks to OH 😍 … the morning is a bit overcast and there’s some raindrops on the northfacing landing window … it’s quite unusual for us to see rain on that window … normally it comes from the east or west. At least the tomatoes and squashes are being well watered in.

Morning all, we enjoyed the concert last night but very unimpressed with Rod Stewart trying to sing Sweet Caroline, surely he would have been better with one of his own songs.
More storm last night but no hail thank goodness, low cloud and sultry at the moment.
Catch up with you all later.

Yes …  Rod Stewart either couldn’t hear or wasn’t listening to his ‘in ear’ sound or he’d have been able to start Caroline in the right key. It looked as if someone turned the volume up after the ‘first verse’ and he heard it and dropped into the right key … not good tho  🙄 He’s done enough live performances not to make that mistake … as the mum of a sound technician I won’t blame the tech  🎧 😉

    Hi all

Wet and cold here, so a paper work day.
Agree, Rod Stewart was the worst of all the performers. Shame, he had such a great voice, I was a great fan of the Faces, back in the day.

Hmm … I was a fan of the Small Faces … Rod Stewart could never compare to Stevie Marriott .., great songwriter and a great voice.
A friend was at school with RS .., I’ll never forget her describing him as ‘an annoying little twerp’ 🤣

RS is still an annoying twerp. Spends far too much time telling us all he should be as much a National Treasure as Sir Elton because he believes he's just as good a songwriter. Whether he is or not, it comes across poorly that he whines.

I didn't watch the concert - if RS was the worst bit, which act (aside from Paddington) was the best, would you say?

    Morning all.

I always think Rod Stewart sounds as though he's recovering from a bad cold, though I did like "Maggie May". Sweet Caroline just wasn't right for him and, so I heard, it's the Jubilee Song, so they should have chosen someone better.

I enjoyed quite a bit of the concert though, especially the Queen and Paddington Bear.

We are going to our village church picnic lunch after the service but it's somewhat wet outside so I expect it will be inside the church. It's Pentecost.

There have been huge thunderstorms in France with some flooding and hail the size of golf balls in places. I hope my house and garden are OK.

@raisingirl, I think the lighting effects were amazing, probably the best bit for me, especially at the end. OH liked Diana Ross, he still has a bit of a crush on her! She looked great for 78.
