I've just seen a woman driving along in her range rover and applying eye make up as she drove.
Used to see it all the time on my way to work @Hostafan1 ... but I did see a chap shaving as he drove too.
Stay where you are and get well @punkdoc ... you're of little use to man nor beast until you're better... have you listened to the Talking Dirty one on Aeoniums etc ?... it lives up to it's name
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I've had a productive morning in the garden ... first in the front, tidying the Clem. cirrhosa now that the dunnocks have fledged, then deadheading, hoeing and weeding. Then in the back, more hoeing and weeding ... flippin chickweed and more willowherb than we've had in other years ... I thought I'd got most of it the other day but there was loads amongst the mint and the sage ... it doesn't seem to mind what the conditions are. I also took Alan Gray's advice and cut the Centaurea montanas hard back and gave them a good soaking. Then I took the hose along the back wall and fence and gave the type 3 clems a good soaking before doing the same to the runner beans and squashes. This wind is very drying. Now Im indoors for a bowl of soup ... and the final of the tennis at Nottingham.

Went to get salt for the water softener, the shop is very near the roundabout on the A41 where a lot of the roadworks are taking place. Traffic was a nightmare, normally I turn left from the parking at the side of the shop, up to said roundabout and left again back on the 41, except I couldn't. Had to go round and back on myself and go round the back roads. Fingers crossed I have enough to last till nearly October, when the work should be finished. Chap in the shop said the work had definitely affected his trade.
Lovely sunny spells here but a “fresh breeze”, which I would upgrade to very windy gusts.
Just back from the groomers so MIL’s dog is pruned and Chelsea chopped for Summer. Anyone have Cavapoos? When they get long they really take some brushing and combing don’t they?
Evening all, absolutely whacked now but have finished my 2nd project apart from waiting for rain before putting some manure on the border. OH kindly drove the supporting stakes in and then screwed them to the edging board for me. I always overdo it on projects and suffer later, you'd think I'd learn by now.
Just about to have a nice cold glass of blush wine as a pick-me-up.
Shame about the weather in other parts of the country. We, too, have had gusty winds all day, blown some of the heavy rose branches over so I had to leap out and secure them.
I see that there's been nightmare traffic queues on the A66 near Teeside Airport and people are reported to have missed their planes. There's an Airshow on apparently.
Hope you enjoy the barbecue @Busy-Lizzie and the tennis when it resumes Dove.
Evening all, Have spent the afternoon in the garden removing a couple of large shrubs/small trees. Think I'll feel it tomorrow though. Did a bit of tidying in and around the pond and planted a couple of plants in the new space. Had to water everything it was so dry. We have had a few light showers but it's really windy too.
