    Afternoon.

Morning spent removing Spanish bluebells from big border (no chance of removing completely but keeps numbers down), untangling a honeysuckle and moving it (in a big pot), and planting out a few foxgloves (great success from the Autumn sow).

Hope all are well and enduring/dodging/enjoying whatever weather you have.

Gorgeous day today.  The great pot sorting has begun.  Got the pampas grass out of its pot, mistakenly bought last year.  The idea was to have grasses waving among brightly coloured things like gazanias, verbenas, osteospermum etc but the grasses wanted to take over so they are (mostly) in the green bin now.  Have run out of compost so couldn't get the plants I bought on Sunday all planted up.  And I see that actually, I could do with a few more plants so a trip to the GC is in order tomorrow.
Unless we really do have that thunderstorm and heavy rain they keep talking about.
@AnnaB - it sounds idyllic where you live.  I hope the quad will be pressed into action again for you to enjoy the further reaches of your farm.  I'm finding that about 3 hours in the garden is my limit, much as I would like to carry on and there is still so much to do.
That squash and chickpea korma sounds delicious @Dovefromabove.  I keep forgetting about chickpeas. Hope you have a lovely time with your friend.
    Wrap up warm @Pat E!

I love chickpeas @didyw 😋… while you’re getting potting compost could you lob a few bags this way please … the cucumbers need potting on and I’ve got tubs to plant up … and a friend to entertain …

Afternoon all, now back from our late friend's 'wake/celebration of life' which was an interesting experience. He was passionate about his orchard, with over 30 rare varieties of apples he'd collected. So it was fitting that the wake was held there in a big marquee. Over 100 people attended representing all his various interests in life. Even the coffin was gaily decorated with a montage of apple pictures plus white roses from his garden.
A lovely, kind and very humorous man who will be sadly missed.

    Afternoon all,
That sounds like a lovely 'send off' @Lizzie27, if there is such a thing.
@AnnaB sounds like a lovely time amongst the bluebells, I haven't managed my annual walk in the bluebell wood this year so I envy you.
Enjoyed myself today. Joined Slimming World as twinges in my knee have reminded me that I need to lose a few pounds (well more than a few really).
Then popped into Besties for a cuppa and a chat followed by a visit to get my nails and toe nails sorted for hols.
Then I went to Merry Hell for some holiday essentials and treated myself to some new foundation and concealer (it was nice and quiet there)
Came home to a lovely meal cooked by Hubby.
Must remember to get myself a new pair of gardening gloves to keep nails nice for hols.

    Good evening all,

I've been desperately trying to catch up, aware that as fast as I was reading comments were being added.... anyway, think I'm up to date now.

I'm glad the wake went well @Lizzie27, sounds as though he would have been pleased with it.

I haven't walked in a bluebell wood this year either, it's now too much for OH. I wish he could have his hip op soon, still no word.

We had a good lunch which we lingered over.

I did quite a bit of watering, not very arduous as the new sprinkler did most of it. Haven't had decent butt filling rain since before I arrived here 5 weeks ago and it was already a bit dry then. I did the front from the front butt with a watering can. Now seen the local weather forecast, heavy rain and storms from 10pm tonight! OH has gone out to mow the front lawn. Pushing the battery mower is a bit like a zimmer frame so he can manage it.
