    Morning all.
I was up at 5, had showered, washed hair, stripped bed and got the washing machine going before leaving for The Home at 6.20am
Cold wind here, no sun, and the torrential rain forecast yesterday missed us.

Lovely day here so far,  loads of rain yesterday,  our butts overfloweth.
Hope to get some planting done today but the ground is so wet and soggy, maybe wait until tomorrow,  any excuse, I’ve gone right off gardening this year.

Morning everyone, hope you are all ok. Lovely day so far here, rain yesterday evening and over night, more expected this evening I think. But like most of you we could do with some really good downpours. Having fed the birds I have been having a little potter about trimming this and that and pulling the odd weed or three. But with my mobility problems the time spent on my feet is frustratingly limited, so popped back indoors for a cuppa and to check on you lot here - cake might be needed too!
On the far side of our small farm we have an area of woodland (about 4 or 5 acres) that drops down into a grassy 'bowl' at the bottom. At this time of year the whole area is a mass of bluebells and yesterday daughter took me down on the quad to visit. We parked up and spent some 20 minutes just sitting and admiring nature. The scent was amazing, so very powerful.
It did make me a  little sad that I can no longer walk the fields and woodland as I used to. For some 16 years the dogs and cats (yes the cats also came with us) used to accompany me on our daily tour of the land to check fencing and stock (our ponies and visiting sheep), it was always my relaxing time of day even in the wind and rain! But like most of you I do have the memories to fall back on.
Hope you all have a good day, not far now to the weekend which looks quite settled and warm.

Back from tennis ... very enjoyable, but just towards the end I felt a twinge in my gammy knee so 'retired hurt' ... nothing serious, but really didn't want to do any damage with our friend A arriving tomorrow and the likelihood of us going out and about.  When I arrived home the washing machine had just finished a load of jeans, so I started hanging them out, when the retractable washing line detached itself from the hook that attaches to the post at the far end of the garden ... thankfully the grass is clean and I was able to fix the line to the hook with a good knot and haul the washing back up into the air.  Now I'll have a coffee and see what's going on here ...

    Good afternoon to everyone.

We're having a heatwave - 34°C this afternoon!!!  It was 24°C yesterday afternoon, so a 10°C jump is quite annoying.  Inside, shutters closed against the sun.   Reading is on the cards and drinking plenty of water!!

I hope you are enjoying your day.
A good hoeing is worth two waterings.
