Oh poor @Busy-Lizzie, it certainly seems to be one thing after another. @Dovefromabove, not a great start for you either, at least the pair of you have been sorted out (nearly), getting workmen to turn up and do a good job can be such a tricky business.
Enjoy your break @Allotment Boy, at least you haven't got an airport or ferry queue to contend with. Charlie is leaving for the UK with school on Sunday via the ferry, it looks like it might be a long journey, shame, they have such a short time and a full itinery so lost time will really be a blow. I wouldn't want to be one of the teachers stuck on a coach with all those 14 year olds.
Extremely windy here last night but looks good now, apparently it will be 20 degrees and sunny tomorrow, we can only hope. I set of for Nimes as soon as I drop Charlie off tomorrow, and as it's south I am hoping for some sunshine.
Good day all, hope you all get to see some sunshine too.

The plumber rang to find out how things are. Now that the mains water is off the drip eventually stopped. He has another emergency so he'll come later this morning.
Sun is shining. I hope it's a nice day as I have things to do in the garden.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
@Busy-Lizzie These things come in threes!! At least things will be ship shape for your return. I think you have a limescale build up and the HW cylinder needs changing. Not a cheap venture but fairly straightforward. I've just had mine done. It was doing the same thing.....dripping.
Enjoy your family day @WonkyWomble I hope the weather is clement!
Clement here today - hot yesterday afternoon but windy and by the evening it was blowing like mad. It blew all night, strong winds coming down from the west. I hope @Obelixx is safe because there were wind warnings out last night in the Vendee area.
I have a pair of wooden shutters that need sanding down and painting so will make a start on that today. The only time-consuming exercise is waiting for the paint to dry between coats.
Have a pleasant day everyone. A Saint-Waudru et Saint-Macaire, on revoit les giboulées d'hiver!
Hope you and Charlie both have a lovely time on your trips @D0rdogne_Damsel … and that your plumber sorts out everyone’s problems @Busy-Lizzie … it sounds as if he has a busy Saturday ahead of him. He’s obviously ‘a treasure’. 😊

Good morning everyone, enjoy your break, @D0rdogne_Damsel, hope Charlie has a good trip too. Hope, you get all sorted soon @Busy-Lizzie. Looking like a good gardening day @Dovefromabove. We have been advised to come a bit later in the day to let the traffic calm down, so hope that tactic works.
Sunny but cold here. Dog is going home tomorrow, so we have brought her to the Donkey Sanctuary for breakfast and a walk. She enjoys the breakfast bit best ( a chew to eat under the table) I’m looking forward to future walks here without her, though, it’s very slow going when she wants to stop and sniff almost every blade of grass or leaf en route. Safe journeys to all travelling today. At least all the disasters happened when you were still in residence, and able to reduce the damage caused, @Busy-Lizzie
Beautiful day here, although very chilly. Lots of seed sowing and pricking out to do. Lovely to see the garden springing into life, new stuff appearing every day.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Sorry, I have been AWOl for a while. We had to have our darling girl PTS yesterday. She was my little greenhouse helper, footwarmer, shoulder dog and perfect ball fetcher. Here she is on 18 March. Her deterioration was very sudden.
