Morning Forkers, Have been feeling dreadful over the last few days but this morning there seems to be an improvement. Managed to get an appt at the GP's yesterday to see a new paramedic nurse they have based there and she prescribed antibiotics. This morning I woke up feeling a little better so I'm hoping I'm on the mend now. Secondborn got antibiotics yesterday too and she's improving so let's hope things are on the up. Weather is miserable so no gardening but I might manage to do a bit of housework this afternoon and also sneak outside in between showers to feed the birds. They don't like it when they are just down to fat balls. Glad you are feeling better now the neighbours from hell have moved on @punkdoc
Cool and grey here and it's been wet overnight and this morning but the heavy downpour forecast for this afternoon has gone off the radar. Pity, but we've had enough to bed in the grass seed OH sowed yesterday on new paths in the veg plot.
I have had a lazy morning after sleeping in late and then dozing on and off till midday - catching up after several broken nights in a row. I shall have a quiet afternoon sewing, I think but first I have courgettes and pumpkins to sow.
School hols this week and next so no dance class or mosaic tho we did have a patch session yesterday with most people carrying on their Hitomezashi embroidery projects. It's a modern form of Sashiko embellished by weaving in and out of the stitches like Swiss embroidery. Very enjoyable to do.
Love that bridge and the views form both the bridge and the town at Millau @D0rdogne_Damsel. Enjoy the rest of your trip. That bubble gum blowing server is enough to lose them their star! Hope @Busy-Lizzie's had a smooth journey too.
Pleased that home life is more easy now @punkdoc. Hope you feel better soon @Yviestevie. We had our first spotted woodpecker in the garden yesterday, feeding on a fat and insects block so I shall go and replenish al our feeders when this latest shower finishes. We had two families in our Belgian garden but have only heard them here. They're very funny when they bring their young to feed.
Have a peaceful day everyone and some fun.

Having enjoyed a leisurely walk this morning now relaxing in the sunshine with an alfresco lunch. Delicious home made quiche and salad.
All is well with Charlie, he's arrived in Brighton now after a day in London. His hostess said she was very relieved he could speak English. 😅 In fact, his friends were fighting over sharing the accommodation with him, a nice safety net for all. Another photo for you @didyw illustrating the diversity on here c/o Charlie in London yesterday. 😁 He was so excited to see one, made me smile.

It’s that time of year again when the studio becomes a greenhouse and OH tries to remember how much he loves homegrown tomatoes, squashes, courgettes cukes, runner beans and sweetcorn 😂
Hopefully they’ll all be ok when we go away next week for a few days … think I’ve got the timing right 🤞

Afternoon all, some good photos on here today. I've been taking it easy apart from doing two lots of washing after our friends left yesterday. Had a good night's sleep which makes a big difference and can hear a bit better too. Managed half an hour pruning my two Salvia Cerro Potto, very damp out there after rain overnight. I ought to be sowing seeds as well but don't feel in the mood.
We went to Athelhampton House, it was a bit of a drive but we'll worthit. Lots of work going on but much restoration is going to be needed for some time. Very well laid out gardens, bit early in the season but you could see the potential.
Hello @Allotment Boy, two other gardens fairly close to Christchurch and worth a visit are Compton Acres at Bournemouth/Poole and Mottisfont Abbey near Romsey.
@Lizzie27, thanks for the ideas. Weather is supposed to be getting better, but we have to go home Friday, so I am not sure which ones we will have time to get to. We'll just have to visit again 😆
Such an evocative photo, DD. Isn’t he clever. Love it.
This morning I awoke to find Pixel laying along my tummy with her head under my chin and lightly purring. I started to go back to sleep and received little head rubs under my chin. I think she was trying to let me know that it was time to get up. 😂😂
After breakfast, I decided to sit on the veranda with Pixel with my feet in the sun and her lazing alongside me. Then, after a while little while wafts of cold breeze started to sneak around and I had to give in and come inside. Brrr! I think she was glad to come in as well.
