Yay!  We have water … apparently grit from a sloppily installed meter got stuck in a valve in a stopcock  I didn’t know we had … the plumber agreed the noise was horrendous. He did point out that the kitchen tap will soon need replacing and the fact that there’s some wear in the barrel had probably not helped. But we have water and no noise … hurrah! Life is back to normal … thanks folks 😊

I was in the garden pottering this afternoon when a heavy hail storm started . I ran indoors and then we had quite heavy snow . When I looked in the garden I had left my cardigan on a garden chair . It was already covered in snow . I left it on the chair until I use the washing machine .

Good afternoon everyone. Canasta was good but before I went to the hall where we play I had a mooch round the market. I saw a bargain I couldn't resist 5 herbs in 9cm pots for £5. I got an apple mint, purple sage, common marjoram, variegated marjoram and common thyme. Super plants - mainly for my bees I have to admit.
Busy, in answer to your question, the scream is awarded to someone who has had a particularly frustrating/annoying/upsetting 'happening' in the course of their day/week. Several have already been issued this year but you may have missed them - you busy creature!
T'Bird, your course sounds fascinating. I hope that you have a wonderful time over those two days. As for the BG fiasco, I am still waiting for the erroneous transfer to be sorted. I have nothing in an online account to refer to, no readings, no anything. Can't get througn on the phone - I got cobwebs the last time I tried. I own up to being rubbish with numbers but having looked at that Direct Debit quote again it is actually 200% more than I was paying. Watch this space!
Yvie, I am sorry that you are feeling so tired at the moment. Just do what you can when you have the energy.
RosieBB, your summer dress sounds delightful. I hope that you haven't put the kiss of death on summer now! Better not let Alfie near your new dress!
Dove, thank goodness you haven't got noisy pipes any more.
Ruby, I had to read your post twice - SNOW! Oh good grief.
    Batten down the hatches Busy!

    Good evening all.

Rubee, did I read snow. Hope it will pass quickly.

LB, you had a nice catch with those herbs. They are all lovely and fragrant, bees will enjoy.

It's warm, windy and it's raining. Quite awful weather. I'm over for today and now is time for dinner and tea.

Have a nice evening and enjoy watching GW.

Ante, its the weekend again. Time for you to forget about school  and look forward to planting your crops.
Hazel, you and your OH have been very busy today too. Mice like greenhouses where its warmer than outside.
Signing out to watch Gardeners' World. See you all tomorrow.

Evening everyone, it’s been a nice afternoon I bought some lavender plants to go in the border,
LB Glad you enjoyed Canasta, lovely herb plant purchases from the market and what a good buy they were,
Hazel It sounds all go there today, hope you won’t have as much to do tomorrow and can enjoy the time a bit more. Glad you’ve got your drawers stained, hope OH is feeling better now,
Yvie It’s a bit concerning how lethargic you are feeling, hope you find some of your energy returns soon,
Dove Pleased to hear that the pipe noise has been sorted out and your water is running as it should,
Topbird Enjoy the course on Medieval hospitals, the location where you are staying sounds equally good. Have a great time,
Bluebells Oh dear you’ve really caught Alfie in the act, hope you can dissuade him from worrying the curtain lining anymore. Your new dress sounds lovely for the summer,
Rubee Shame about your cardigan, that snow must have fallen very quickly. Hopefully you’ll be able to retrieve it soon and get it washed,
Busy Hope this storm soon passes you’ve had enough unwelcome disruptions, I hope the garden isn’t damaged by the wind,
Ante Enjoy the weekend now it’s here, hope max gets on well tomorrow,
@“star gaze lily" I hope you are ok,
    Goodnight everyone.

    Morning all,

Just woke up in the comfy armchair. Monty must have lulled me to sleep :D

Had a good session in the garden yesterday despite the four seasons in one day. OH came out to help get the final fence panel back in (that we had to take out for the tree feller fella to get access to NDN's tree) and it immediately started snowing :o We got the job done, OH trampled a daffodil and I realised that I'd taken my phone out of my pocket just before it got too wet :o . Can you see how tranquility seems to follow OH around? ;)

Got some seeds sown - tomatoes, french beans, sweetcorn, peas and rudbeckia, so the indoor windowsills are at maximum capacity! Couple of spuds into a pot and then a good potting-on stint - love it when something is happy enough to outgrow its pot (especially the Cistus cutting I took last year).

Lined a planter (with compost bags), attached the 'feet' and filled with ericaceous compost. Chucked in one of my new blueberry plants and some caluna, that were starting to look a bit sad in their tiny pots.

R-a-a-f duties later this morning and then the rest of the day for more pottering out the back.
