Good afternoon everyone. Thank you for all the advice regarding the price rise. I have no intentions of paying that much but as my erroneous transfer is still being sorted by the E.H.U. I am waiting with ever decreasing patience for a finalisation. Busy, that is per month by the way.
I hope all the coughers and snufflers are rallying now. The sun has finally come out here but it is seriously windy. The Council grass cutters came round today for the first time this year and cut the green outside my house - in the pouring rain! Typical.
Debs, I hope that you are all scrubbed and polished outside now and that there wasn't too much dirt kicked up by the power washer.
Busy, I hope that you are not too stiff after all your gardening. You will be quite excited now about your imminent return to Norfolk. My sis and brother-in-law are on their way home from France today. I'm glad that they are driving and not flying with all the chaos at Manchester Airport.
Biglad, glad the boiler repair was as simple as connecting two wires. I smiled at your description of the castle. I hope that you can pull up the drawbridge when necessary.
Ruby, I'm glad that you are dried out now from the leak and its good to hear that no major damage has been done.

    Good afternoon all.
I've been busy today so I'm rather late, I'm afraid. I've skim read, but can't remember much. The photo of the little lad is very cute.
Our energy supplier sent us an email this morning with the amount we owed up to but not including the 31st of March, cheeky beggars. I can't now remember what increase there will be on our monthly DD, but we are £100+ in credit; that's good.
I went shopping early, when it's quiet- I'm pleased that many folk are still wearing masks in the supermarkets and shops here. I got back just when the heavens opened so had my lunch and a rest. After several hours the sun came out so I pottered with some pots at the back of the house and yes, I decided to prune the hydrangea, cutting out the dead bits and removing old flowers. It looks a good shape and I'm pleased with it.
I hope everyone is doing ok and the day is going well.

Neighbour, French, rang to ask if I'd like to go for a walk. We went for a lovely walk, nearly 2 hours. She talks a lot, it's very good for my French and she's nice. I don't have back ache any more.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Oh Busy, that is so nice. I hope that you don't feel stiff tomorrow It will be lovely knowing you have a new companion for walks when you return to France again.

Afternoon all,  I'm still one of the sore throat, chesty cough brigade.  Seems to be taking ages to clear up.  Have tested today and definitely not Covid.
Carpenter came again today to do another little job.  Must say the door between kitchen and conservatory has made a real difference.  Kitchen is much warmer now.
Not doing anything today.  Hubby has to go to doctors as he has hurt is his back and couldn't walk this morning.  It's not been great for a while but as usual he wouldn't get help until it became impossible to move.  Luckily the doctor managed to get him in to see the practice physio this afternoon.  Have quite a few days off now from Nanna duty as the boys are going to the lakes to see their other grandparents and Firstborn and the girls are off to Cornwall.  Hoping the weather improves so I can a few days in the garden
    Get well soon fellow sufferers.

    Evening all,

A couple of gardening firsts to report - the leftover sweet pea seeds that I brought home from my sister's have started to germinate en masse. The ones that were soaked the longest and sown last are the batch that have come up, which I'll try and remember next year.

Even more exciting, the first flower has appeared on one of the 3 citrus plants that I got it 2020 :) We may even end up using a home-grown lemon in 2022 :open_mouth:

  • Lily do rest and have plenty of food and hot drinks.  You can feel quite phased when you’re feeling like that.  I hope you have a good rest tonight.  Chive I’m glad to hear your relatives aren’t too bad with Covid and there soon back to normal.  I had a good sleep today at Rubees as was feeling quite exhausted.  Big lad such a lovely photo looking very healthy.  We’re always pleased when things are coming along.  LB I had dinner at Rubees this evening after my sleep cooked by dad which was lovely.  Alfie’s so glad to have me home.  Time for his treats for him and a cup of tea.  Debs I hope Graham had a good day.

Biglad, I am pleased to say that my sweet peas are all through - a 100% germination too. Your lemon tree looks wonderful.
Chive, that has reminded me that my lemon trees in the GH look awful. I'm not sure that they are going to survive.
RosieBB, good to hear that you enjoyed your dinner round at Ruby's. After that shocker of an email from BG this morning, I think I might have to invest in a heated cape or maybe an electric blanket. I can feel research coming on!
I am going to sign out for today people. I'll see
you all tomorrow when I definitely AM having my hair done. Bye bye highland coo!

That increase in your payments LB seems excessive to me.  Mine has gone up by £80 per month so we are paying £190 per month in a property built in 1870 so definitely not well insulated.
