I must say that l really enjoyed the pro dance at the start of the show. Simple and elegant, and the picture of The Queen at the end. Had me going.

I'm not surprised that Tony decided to withdraw, even though the dance off was probably a foregone conclusion. He did say on It Takes Two that his back and hamstring were suffering, so l think even if he'd got through on the public vote he probably would have pulled out anyway.
If Katya returns next year l hope she gets a celebrity with a chance, l think she deserves it.

I noticed on Saturday evening that he was rubbing his hamstring when they finished the dance and when waiting for the scores.

i liked the pro dance too @AnniD

Very pleased that Tony has gone as the gap between him and the others was huge tho have to say he did show spirit and embraced the work ethic needed even if he didn't have the talent.

I really enjoyed Hamza's dance tho the costume didn't do him any favours.   Enjoyed the other survivors' dances too and am looking forward to Blackpool.   Danced there once during a long weekend for a family wedding in Lancashire about 10 years ago and loved it.   Fabulous sprung floor, two huge organs and fab déco.  Shame about the rest of the town.

I thought the pro dance last night was particularly good
Surprised Tony was in dance off but having to pull out due to injury he have had to withdraw any way

Just joining the conspiracy theorists, but how do we know he was actually in the bottom two as we never see the voting figures.  If he wasn't in the bottom two, it would make sense to massage the figures to avoid losing two people in the same week.

I’ve just heard Kim Marsh say on breakfast TV ‘it was so important we did that dance’

Important, my arse. She needs to have a word with herself.

  • From what I have seen over the years being a contestant can be a very emotional experience, lips quivering, tears, strops "look at my kids crying I hope that you're happy now" one contestant once said to Craig. I suspect that the constant training, media attention, public/family expectations, not wanting to make a fool of themselves/let their partner down all play a part. The BBC does make a feature of the emotion though I suppose that it is all part of the "journey". Tony was definitely holding his hamstring after his jive on Saturday and well he might do!

I thought Tony's was more of a tactical injury, to save himself the humiliation of having to dance the jive again and us the embarrassment of having to watch it.  All done with dignity I thought.  Same as the pro dance - wonderful.

I don't think it was tactical.  Look at the dance again and you will see his kicks became much smaller and less vigorous as the dance progressed, although part of that was possibly down to fatigue.  As I mentioned earlier, he was rubbing the hamstring as soon as the dance finished.
