Well there you go, thought she was called Petals but that may be the dog on Escape to the Chateau.
@GardenerSuze , have you noticed they  pronounce that name as Pet...al, accent /emphasis on the "al" now? 🙄

    French pronunciation!!  Pétale.

It's the boy partner whose parents are former champions, not Pebble Rose.

  • @Obelixx Just wondered if you have the opportunity to watch Escape to the Chateau? I should know better my daughter speaks fluent french. However she is not a fan of the Strawbriges!

I read somewhere that the Strawbridges aren't doing Escape to the Château any more.
I suspect it was very useful before they built up their many businesses. I liked it a lot when it was all new and falling to bits, but not keen now,a little bit big for their boots,so the charm has worn off for me.

Never seen it @GardenerSuze cos we don't get programme listings here unless I remember to look online.   We tend to stick with the Beeb plus Sky sports for OH unless there's a pointer on here somewhere.

However, I do know French people who wax lyrical (usually female) about Dick Strawbridge who has so many talents but whose husbands find his Renaissance Man/I can do anything persona very irritating cos their wives get ideas.

I watched It Takes Two earlier, apparently Ellie and Johannes had problems at the start of the dance. They were unable to hear the cue and it mucked up the beginning of the dance which unsettled her all the way through. It explained her apology to him at the end as she thought it was all her fault.
She was convinced they would be in the dance off, and so was l if l'm honest.

Are judges penalising the learners for the shortcomings of the pros?
Didn't that happen with Aston Merrygold when J Manrara taught him a dance that lacked the proper "elements"?  Aston was voted out, I think.

There have always been comments on choreography from the very earliest days.  The judges like to see basic steps included as well as some clever figures to match the dance to the music and/or show off the celebrity to their best, hence my earlier comment on Johannes' choreography being dull and not up to his usual standard.   For dances like Charleston, Salsa, Argnetine tango and couple's choice they call on experts to help with the choreography as they are not included in the 10 ballroom and Latin dances the professionals are expected to know inside out.
