I know it's been raised many times over the years, but if a celeb is unable to perform they should either be the one eliminated, or there should be no elimination that week with a double elimination the following week.  I'm sure BBC has enough material in their archive to replace the results show on the Sunday evening.

I like Ellie but it was right that she should go.I didn't agree at all with Craig about Helen, 5 seemed most unfair. I don't know why Fleur keeps being in the dance off, I think she's very good. I think there have been better couples in other years. I still don't care for Hamza, he is still pigeon toed and I wish he'd cut his hair. How does he wash it?

I like Hamza.  He just quietly gets on with it, making no fuss or histrionics, and he does well.   I found his hair an irritant and a diversion at first but his dancing ability makes it no longer an issue.  I suspect he washes it in the shwoer like many other people.

I'm assuming from the lack lustre choreographies he gave her that Johannes recognised Ellie was not a winner.   She certainly lacked sparkle for me.

I didn't like Fleur's couple's choice dance - not to my taste - but it was well-performed.   Unfortunately I don't remember any other stand out performances and maybe the GBP has the same problem so isn't voting.  However, I really liked her rumba and hope she can go further than next week.

It's definitely Hamza's attitude that makes me like him. As @Obelixx says, no drama, no histrionics, he just gets on with it. I think he and Jowita have a geniune friendship.

You hear "We will be friends for life" so often, (which l suppose is understandable when you have been with someone for hours each day, up close and personal and undergoing all the stress of live TV etc. ) but you can't imagine them really staying in touch once a couple of months have passed.
Hamza strikes me as someone who will make the effort to keep in touch and so does Jowita.

I think this year there is no standout partnership or real "personalities".  Rose and Gio were in a class of their own, John and Johannes were on a "journey" as John overcame his shyness, and AJ and Kai were the "fun and bubbly" couple.
There is a video on YouTube of Rose and Gio, admittedly very cheesy at times, showing their experience on Strictly, and it moved me to tears more than once. I just haven't felt that this year, but l suppose that's only to be expected.

At least Kym and Graziano are back this week, so there won't be too much extra time to fill.

I think Hamza’s hair looks great. It may take more care, just like when a Caucasian has very long hair, but there’s no reason to assume that it will be dirty.

I was more worried about it swinging out and whacking his partner when they turn or getting in the way of an arm movement!

The "We'll be friends for life" claim which is rolled out many times every year really does make me laugh.  I suspect you could count the number of long term friendships created over the years on the fingers of both hands if you exclude those who have become couples.  Yes it's a short and intense period, but how many 'friends for life' do most people have from their working environment alone?  My wife is far more outgoing than me, and she has no more than half a dozen she sees regularly.

They'll send Christmas cards each year. What more do you want?  :)

  • My father loved Strictly and he also loved to dance. I can remember him telling me just how difficult and skillful it can be for a man to lead a lady around the  dance floor.
I always remember his comment when I watch a male contestant who has never danced before. Hamza has learnt alot.

Don't forget that Strictly is on tonight instead of tomorrow - at the same time as GW!
