I have a problem with this poor Lady Hamilton.. I don’t know if these are suckers… and I couldn’t established which exactly is the bud union… 😨😨😨 please give me some guidance …thank you everyone Â
@endeavourlondiniumE32axz5M ..in the first picture marked 'front', they appear to be own roots developing. ..in the 2nd picture marked 'back'.. they appear to be roots from the rootstock but not suckers as such.
Nothing wrong there from what I can see apart from a little dead wood..
@endeavourlondiniumE32axz5M ... the top one with the little white shoots are own roots coming off the stem, nothing to worry about. ..the bottom two big shoots within the big red circle look like normal basal growth to me, especially as I can see some pink at the top of one.
Really nothing to be concerned about here, cover with soil and allow the rose to grow..
Thank you so much @Marlorena… I have never seen anything like this , finally you cleared all my doubts … I will now put it back into the pot… thanks againÂ
..lovely to see your first bloom Valerie... especially with the frosty nights at the moment. Did you bring the stem indoors to open out? I do that sometimes, but doesn't always work..
@Marlorena it was our wedding anniversary. My husband picked it half open 28th March.  But there is no perfume and the petals are a little unusual. We have wallflowers out and the geraniums are still with a few red petals on them. We have lots of flowers still out. The next rose that has buds on is madam butterfly climbing and she will be out soon. We live close to the sea, south coast. I love your posts, thank you so much for all the effort you put in to this forum. ValerieÂ
