I’m living vicariously through this thread as I’m yet to have a rose bud open. Such beautiful roses you all have! Spotted some colour on ORA today so I think it’ll be first past the post for me.
These are horrible photos but here are the rose sprouts…to my surprise a new one appeared today, a seedling from Fetzer Syrah (Harkness floribunda).Â

And something unrelated…I thought the male cones of this Japanese white pine (‘Negishi’) were quite pretty:
Streets ahead of mine @Marlorena. We've also had a very good day - up to 23c but need more rain. Winchester Cathedral, GJ , EduH, and Penelope up on the wall
My neighbour doing the watering for me is taking roses as a perk. I think these are Etoile dH- they are lovely to float in a bowl. J says the scent is stunningÂ
Two Rhapsody in Blue opened up overnight and Eustacia Vye slowly opening - but smelling good already.
The bee has sealed this second hole that it was inside in the photo from yesterday. Saw it tonight in another. It was busy out and about in the garden today. It's so lovely to see. £10 well spent!

..lovely roses everyone, budding or out.. as long as they excite us that's what matters, and it's still early for us here..
..that Rhapsody in Blue of Mr Vine's has rocketed since I last saw it.. I think that might look ok as a short climber too.. Â
