Just use the top of the cap on the bottle, I fill it up [it's 10ml] and pour into watering can.Ā Ā It should be fine for your 8ltr..Ā Ā A little and often is what I do..
Thanks for that @Marlorena...could I ask how many pots you would manage to feed from 10ltrs of dilution. Beautiful sumptuous pics as usual. I must get 'Wild Rover'. Do the blooms stand up to rain well(always a main question up here).
@peteS ..yes it stands up to rain well.. otherwise I wouldn't have it really..Ā thanks..
Using a 10 ltr watering can, if a hot drying day probably 2 pots.. if cool like now, I might get 3 or 4 pots done..Ā it just depends what I think they might need and how long it's been since I watered them.Ā It's something we have to fine tune ourselves I think..
Harlow Carr was, I decided, in the 'last chance saloon' going into this summer. It's a rose I've had for many years but the necks still flop over once the blooms start developing and opening. They always end up looking at the ground. Same again this year, so I'm afraid it's going. So frustrating because it's a beautiful rose.
New Souvenir de Marcel ProustĀ [Delbard] made his debut today, large, upright 4ā/10cm bloom (nearly twice the size of Graham Thomas) with a deep yet deliciously fresh lemon sherbet/summery floral perfume:
Yes, you are right, I do.Ā I remember you saying you would get this, nice to see an update, looks to be a clean, fresh yellow, very nice.
@WhereAreMySecateurs an unreasonable affection for snails...haha, think I have that affliction too, I just like them
Great catching up with everyone's posts and I enjoyed seeing more of @Omori's garden.
I feel like I live on a different planet seeing all your roses, so floriferous, mine are distinctly further behind.Ā Maybe that's why I'm partial to a once-flowerer as they pretty much all start at the same time anyway There has already been alot of squally weather so I'm hoping it might have blown over in time for the roses.Ā Last year they got trashed.
Rose of the Week is Goldbusch, a going-to-be-huge yellowy-cream Kordes shrub.Ā I haven't decided how to grow this yet so I am just letting it do its own thing.Ā At the moment it is a contained ball with two giant canes arching out to the ground like a camel spider's arms. Smells beautiful with the sun on it, noticeably rosy but slightly musky.Ā Ā Blooms are about 3-4", not huge.
Goldbusch hanging out with a 14 spot
Front garden view, Celebration 2000 and Stephanie d'Ursel.Ā The alliums are wind-flattened Purple Rain.
The deservedly (imo) ubiquitous Rhapsody in Blue.Ā I had to scaffold it this year after the winds meddled with it.Ā To the lhs is Westerland.Ā I feel like kicking myself on my good shin because it's a perfectly nice rose, scented sunset shades but somehow I just don't care for it
Well our party went well, and I now have two new roses to find homes for both Ruby Wedding. Also our friend gave us the David Austin handbook of 2022 roses and said pick your favourite and I will get it for you.⤠I think I have boiled it down to two,Ā either Lady of Shalott or Desdemona, and I think Desdemona is winning as it is said to have a stronger fragrance. Such a lovely dilemma.Ā
@Victoria Sponge [said about] Westerland Ā āI feel like kicking myself on my good shin because it's a perfectly nice rose, scented sunset shades but somehow I just don't care for itā Ā Ha, Victoria, I could have written those exact words about Golden Beauty. Even though it is the strongest, most colourfast yellow rose in my garden, it lacksĀ grace and beauty to me. Julia Child beats it hands down.
I am still pining for a Rhapsody in Blue, I read it prefers a cooler climate so keep holding off buying it. Also Boule de Neige - instead I sensibly bought Ducher, a white china thatās meant to be very heat tolerant, but am underwhelmed so far by itās small, scentless browning blooms. Whatās sensible in my climate and what makes my heart sing arenāt always the same thing.
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
Agreed @Nollie. It seems irrational too. I have roses that haven't put in half the effort of Westerland that I treat like sickly pets but with W'land I'm like, 'Yes, but what else have you got?'
More lovely examples of hulthemias @newbie77, you guys are tempting meš
That's a lovely gift from your friend @purplerallim, very thoughtful
I meant to say before, but thank you for sharing your garden visit photos all, it was most enjoyable looking through them all. I like Omori's idea of a garden pilgrimage but this year I have bitten off more than I can chew with various non-garden projects.

I use 10ml for 5 ltr.. 20ml for 10 ltr..Ā

Rose of the day Amour de Melone.Ā New for me, nice big flowers but I was hoping for more orangish. It is very similar to Chippendale.Ā
I am happy with both my hulthemia roses, healthy, floriferous and cute little flowers.
