We too had some overnight rain providing respite to the parched plants. Here are a few photos taken today: all unlabelled HT roses except the last one, Korresia, a floribunda from Kordes which has a very light scent.
Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth
Just before I went into hospital for a week I posted my first flower on my Celebration rose, came back and the bush is covered in blooms. I love the way this rose changes colour as it ages, but my favourite colour is when it's just opened a deep vibrant yellow. 😁
That's a ridiculous deadline. Mind you, I am thinking if you live in a stately home, your chances are better than if your rose is in the tiny back garden of an ex-council flat with a TV mast in the background.
I'll have a go at the competition! (Not with this one though!)
But just showing Desdemona getting ready to bloom. Love the peachy buds.
Took a few photos yetserday on my camera. Went to import them and share on here but they'd all dissapeared! Very odd. Card was definitley in the camera cos of checked the photos on the camera at the time. But now nowhere to be seen
Post rain flush here so playing with the mobile close ups! Rhapsody, Angel eyes, natalija, rosy cushion, for your eyes only, eyes for you a very rosy tulip "Belicia"
..lovely roses everyone,.. whether in bloom or not.. it's great to see bush shots like 'Celestial' too..and 'Rosy Cushion' seems popular.. 'Bajazzo' took my fancy I must say..
..I wonder if DA meant 23rd June instead of 23rd May? they say ''across the nation'' yet most people, especially up north, won't have their roses in full flush, maybe not even a bloom on that date. Ok for those in London or Bournemouth I suppose.. Have they thought this through?
I don't know what you all mean, David Austin roses are in full flush,
Desdemona and England's RoseOnly joking, that is a very warm spot. Elsewhere there are individual open blooms on 4 more DA's with Malvern Hills cranking up in another sheltered area. It seems a crazy deadline if DA want this year's roses. Only one third of my DA's have open blooms.Diamond Eyes and Odyssey are the only other fullish flush roses.
