Thanks @cooldoc, I have Buff Beauty although only a youngster and I find it quite orange toned. This might not be the exact colour below as my phone struggles to take photos of orange shades in low light.
I was hoping for something lighter and creamier as a colour buffer between LEH and a bright pink Gallica.
To follow on from the conversation above, I'm taking out shrubs this year but not replacing with roses , (it's too dry and shady otherwise I would be tempted) but with another favourite, alpine clematis and maybe have some space around the base for some geranium phaeum and fancy hellebore
Can’t recall what size you are looking for @Victoria Sponge, but what about Comte de Champagne? It’s a DA rose that’s always intrigued me as it looks pretty but nobody seems to have it. Maybe its a duffer..
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
I'd forgotten about that rose @nollie, I'll take a look. I only recall seeing Lichfield Angel as a contender from my DA search and I'm not sure if the nodding heads might cause me some mild stress.
good to know everyone is having familiar experiences..
@Nollie  I often fall into the trap of ordering roses by calculating their estimated date of delivery and my OH's work timings... only to find out that they will be delivering that one day of the week where my OH is not working.. DHL once delivered at 7 35am (who delivers that early??), just when my OH was leaving for work.. what followed was a sigh from both of us.. just that it had different meanings..
@Fire I recently watched an interesting vid regarding creating privacy.. if you get too occupied in creating that space all around then you might end up with a shaded garden.. they advice having a small tree/ shrub/ trellis closer to the seating area so that you would not have to have huge trees casting shadows (if planted away from seating area)..
We have couriers delivering after 10pm at night here. And they don't ring the bell - just leave the package on the front step, in full view of the street. Nuts.

that is so irritating... may be you should complain to the courier company and the plant vendor..
