Has anyone seen a standard to create a kind of arbour - immediate extra height added by putting in a tall tree? I have a high corner between a high arch and a trelllis that I wondered about a rose 'umbrella-ing'Â with a standard, such the foliage wouldn't 'weep' much, but be trained along arch and trellis. Any thoughts?

I think it would work but standards are expensive. Maybe using a vigorous rambler and training it from the ground would be more practical. but depends on the spot. Photo?
I once had an idea about roses on two levels - standard growing through a short obelisk, with one rose on the obelisk and the crown of the standard above it. But I decided against it.

Does anyone else's Ebb Tide look really spindly and weak next to all their other roses? Not sure if it's my (mis)management or just a poor specimen. It's nothing like my.other floribundas or the vital, healthy bush I see in pictures!

That would be interesting too.
I do like your little pond and messy seat. I think I would never want to leave that area.
