I'm still waiting for my DA Alnwick is still to bloom. It suffered badly after that windy week. It is my worst performing Da, has anyone else got this one? I'm hoping that it improves with age!

Still waiting for 'Comtessa' (new this year, almost there, takes ages to fully open), 'Purple Lodge' (nowhere near, always a late bloomer), 'Schloss Eutin' (new this year), 'Joie de Vivre', unknown HT, 'The Prince', 'Agnes Schilliger', 'Claire Jolly', 'Kiss me Kate'.

@WhereAreMySecateurs I see you have Lavender Lassie, would you mind telling something about her?
I have one planted 3 years ago, but she is struggling to survive where I put her, maybe in a too much shady spot. I’ve decided to move her but I still don’t know which would be the best situation for this rose.

@WhereAreMySecateurs 'Is anyone still waiting for any roses to bloom?'

I still have three roses yet to bloom. Two from Peter Beales - 'Many Happy Returns' and 'Whisky Mac'. Both have buds but I suspect it may be a week before they flower. The third is 'Barkarole' which was bought as a potted rose but didn't make much headway so I checked the roots and felt they were quite underdeveloped. I repotted and hope that the roots are now making progress, especially because the few leaves that were on the plant have dropped. I am living more in hope than expectation!

  • I still have Mountbatten and Port Sunlight to bloom.

Port Sunlight is in its second year but is not happy.  I think it's too close to the triffid, for your eyes only, which has really gotten bigger than ever planned!
