Jubilee celebration and Summer song. Jubilee celebration has a unique colour, I am never sure what to put with it, may be A Shropshire lad but that is done with first flush. May be it is best on its own.
As a rose Jubilee C has very floppy flowers, but I love the colour, shape and fragrance.Â
I should have cut these yesterday or day before. They are a bit past their best.
I’m grateful for all your lovely rose photos to keep me going, since my weather-wrecked garden is sorely lacking and a septic tank explosion yesterday was hardly cheering either!
White weather-proof shrub rose suggestions please!
Is Boule de Neige such a rose? I keep admiring it. Ideally I’m looking for something that doesn’t easily brown and shrivel in sun or badly ball in rain to replace my now sadly deceased Souvenir de St Annes. Not too huge, max 4x4ft or could be pruned to that pink blush fine but not yellow, fragrance would be good or course.. Any suggestions folks?
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.

My boule de neige has seemed impervious to the rain so far. It might get too large, but not sure - mine is only in its first year.
@Dabolem, I'm not a rosegrowing expert, just a baby tagging along with the big kids on this thread, but I have Lavender Lassie where she gets 3-4 hours of sunshine (plus a smidgeon in the evening). Could you put her somewhere sunnier? My experience so far is that she's very healthy, but she's in her own little enclave in the garden far from other roses. I love her pretty blooms and pleasant "rose" fragrance (non-chemical) and she reminds me of my childhood. I also got her from Trevor White and she was a very healthy plant to begin with, which definitely helps.
Edhelka, if cooldoc's pics hadn't already made me buy Amazing Day, your pic would have pushed me over the edge. Mine is still not fully open, but it's already both elegant and fragrant.
Newbie, you keep posting gorgeous pictures of roses I have been contemplating buying. Jubilee Celebration, what an amazing colour. I might need one, despite the naff name.
Gertrude Jekyll is delighting my soul just now. And the souls of the bees.
Nollie, my Boule de Neige holds together well in the weather. My favourite rose, from its buds to its whipped cream perfect blooms. It does get some blackspot (not too bad).
@WhereAreMySecateurs, beware Jubilee celebration has very droopy flower. My three year old shrub is also floppy like many Austins but I am talking about individual flowers. They do look nice upside down though.
^ a lovely white with nice touches of red in the bud..
'Ghislaine de Feligonde'.. blooms can hang around a bit when going over.. ..before .. ..and after a good shake, rattle and roll with the fingers, spruces it up a bit.. difficult if out of reach though..
