That's a great height for an obelisk @Omori. And the points you make are spot on. Probably the reason why I'm beginning to shy away from buying Austin's now.
@WhereAreMySecateurs I have to spend time/money on the house now, otherwise I would! I think it would get a little overwhelming trying to maintain the front and the massive border I’ve already put in out the back!
Yes, I have lots of buds on 'Ghislaine de Feligonde', which is recovering from a prolonged hissy-fit after being pulled up out of a comfy veg bed and planted in ordinary soil during a rainstorm in late March.
And the buds on 'Lady of the Lake' remain in suspended animation. I think it overheard me contemplating removal of the big holly above, and is waiting until it hears the saw before blooming.
My DA Amelia is very slow to bloom and always is the last. Has buds so waiting patiently for them to open. The whole rose bush hasn't grown very big either whereas DA Grace is taking over the rose bed hiding lots of others.

’…the individual blooms nodding attractively on the stem’ = floppy
’It forms a strong, rather informal shrub’ = messy shape, but a vigorous mess.Â
Is anyone still waiting for any roses to bloom? I just have three little teases left.

They don't have an easy life here!
