Ive got Nozomi weeping standard and as a ground cover rose it hangs naturally. I got it in July last year. Its just gearing up but not in the best spot for sun as its in a shadier spot so I will move it a bit and take pics. Ive got a megan standard from styles too to try.
That looks great edhelka, it was yours that inspired me. Then I thought I needed a tuteur because the canes would snap off so it's reassuring yours don't. I do find the trad tuteur really ugly and it always would show so I've adapted a cheapie to be fixed to just the support stake without a frame from the soil. I also assumed I needed to do this asap before canes grew. Now I'm wondering whether to dispense with it in which case I only have a short time to decide or I'll have to cut it out.

"Hello [secateurs]
They will weep under their own weight. If you do tie them down be careful not to pull too hard that you snap them and do irreparable damage.
Kind Regards Margaret Styles" I would take that to mean you could jettison your tuteur if you wanted to. I am going to follow her advice and Edhelka's example and leave the rose to its own devices. Thanks, all.
@Tack and @WhereAreMySecateurs I think we just need to wait then until the canes are long enough to weep under their own weight. I expect it will take maybe three seasons to develop the weeping habit and render the support invisible. Clearly not an essential accessory, but I bought the umbrella because GdeF has fairly flexible canes (as far as I understood) and it seemed to be the thing to do with this rose to get the ‘Giverney look’.

The fence behind. Mme Alfred Carriere is newly planted last year. Albertine and honeysuckle are there but haven’t started yet.Â
