    This is an Antler from some recent moth trapping.
    If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

    Thanks guys. Yes it does look like one of those. It fooled me by flying like a Large Skipper, and in the afternoon sun.

    My new caterpillar field guide turned up in the post today and look what I found on the way to pick up the kids from school. :) I would have got some funny looks from other parents for picking it up off the pavement for a photo but they were all busy on their phones. Anyway this is a Buff Tip moth caterpillar.

    These days I take "funny looks" to be a good sign.

    Unidentified bee (?) asleep on cosmos flower. I didn't have my macro lens on today, but my new camera makes it possible to crop a lot without losing detail.
