We took the kids to a local trail to ride their bikes last night and I found them this freshly emerged dragonfly by a stream. They're really into minibeasts at the moment and they don't come much less mini than this. It was bigger than their hands.
Looks like Golden-ringed Dragonfly - Cordulegaster boltonii See https://british-dragonflies.org.uk/species/golden-ringed-dragonfly/
A good catch, @wild edges ! Must have been just freshly emerged for it to accept being manipulated like that!

The exuvia was right next to it. From your link it looks like this was a female.

If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

I would say second instar Brown Marmorated Sheildbug nymphs but it's a little hard to tell and it's not one we get a lot in the UK. They're more common over your side of the channel though.

I've never seen that colour before, so I googled it.

The orange ladybird is pale orange with up to 16 cream spots on its wing cases. It feeds on mildew on trees like sycamore and ash, and hibernates in the leaf litter. It often turns up in moth traps.
