    Is this Rose Sawfly?

    Found it resting on the French Beans.

    I've got a collection on some leaves now, they are quite funny how they all position themselves round the edge and then all stand up when they feel threatened. I'm reluctant to remove them, but they are also decimating the rose 😖


  • 2-spot ladybird, melanistic form. The darker form is more common in the North, the theory being that it allows greater heat-absorption.
