I know Uff - but Val in her chat on Radio 4 said that Raith should be judging character when employing people. And I semi follow what she says - but there are a whole lot of bankers who didn't actually commit a crime and who ruined millions of peoples lives and caused death.
So what is this line that makes someone unemployable - and who makes that decision? The public? The employer? The other employees? Law? Based on what?
Just in case folk get the wrong idea, i detest any man that rapes a woman. I have a daughter of my own. My point is that i hate mob rule, and don't think someone should be allowed to sue someone for what is a criminal case in a civil court for financial benefit. If the woman that sued this footballer donated all the money to charity, i could understand her motive. When money is involved, any motive is suspect in my opinion. I grew up in a tough working class housing estate, and i knew some evil women that would do anything for money.

I still can't see a justification why this wasn't a criminal case and in those circumstances the victim only had one route to some form of justice.
Tough new laws were brought in five years ago to protect victims incapable of giving consent because of drink or drugs.
But
the National Sex Crimes Unit failed to take a blood test in time to
check if Denise had been given a date rape drug. Forensics proved that
Goodwillie’s DNA was inside her and tests showed she had an almost fatal
amount of alcohol in her system.
There were also witnesses to say she was very drunk but the case was dropped because of lack of evidence?
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Yes, lack of evidence. I've watched the CCTV evidence that was shown on the news up here. She was shown happily getting into the car with the two guys. Both of them admitted having sex with her, and she happily went along with it according to them.. It was later that she felt guilty for having sex with both of them. Girls throw themselves at footballers all the time. Money is the root of all evil, so they say.
@Balgay.Hill What exactly do you not understand about the victim going for civil proceedings because the CPS and police and everyone else involved when a rape is reported failed completely to get the forensic evidence needed and take the case to criminal court, as they do with 99.9% of all rape cases it would seem.
She had no other recourse and he has, as has been stated, shown no remorse or contrition.
This is not mob rule or kangaroo courts or trial by TV or public opinion. 3 judges listened to her evidence as well as his and his co-rapist and found in her favour. Job done.

There will always be folk like yourself that always think the woman must be believed. No matter what i say, you will be blinded by your own prejudice. I don't know what has happened to you in your previous life, but i know a hell of a lot more than you about life in working class housing schemes in Scotland, and how nasty women i've known can be. Sorry.
People are not born nasty or desperate. They turn into people like that because of life experiences. Maybe the nasty women you knew had been treated badly by men?
You could be right, but i think it is mostly drugs. I've seen some sad cases of really nice young girls totally ruined by drugs. They will do anything for money.

Lack of evidence apart from the CCTV evidence, blood tests that show she was legally unable to provide consent, DNA tests, eyewitnesses, admission of the two men that they had sex with her, previous assault convictions and four separate judges deciding it was rape? How much evidence does a person need to get something like this to be considered at trial? They offered her a lift home, witnesses said they can confirm that but they took her somewhere else. But she should be grateful because they were footballers?

And who gets them hooked on the drugs when they’re so young and vulnerable? Many times it’s men who want to exploit them and then pimp them out … and because by then the girl has at least one child she has no choice …
