Good morning all, a bright sunny day today, OH wanted to cut the grass yesterday but the battery in the sit-on mower has died, it was about ten years old so we have to go and find another this morning along with a SM shop. Hello @Yviestevie thinking of you, I did wonder how things are with you now. @Pat E I see there is a lot of rain over on your side of the country, are you affected? Catch up with you all later.
Beautiful here, warm in the sunshine too, I am sat on the back porch with my coffee after taking Charlie wild swimming at our local lake, only in for 5 minutes, first time this year, it takes a bit to acclimatise... I'll be glad when the sunshine reaches my seat.
Going to get some more gardening in today, have some roses to move before they get going and some brambles to get out of some shrubs, I can see them now the shrubs are leafless, sneaky things that they are!
Trying to get ahead before the tearoom gets busy again and on nice days like this gardening is certainly not a chore. Maybe just another cup of coffee first though. Anyone else?

Oooh that looks lovely @D0rdogne_Damsel ... nothing like sitting outside weather here yet ... I'm fighting an urge to make a Victoria sandwich ... we don't need one ... we really don't ...

Gorgeous day here too @floralies and @D0rdogne_Damsel The wind has dropped too - down to the promenade for a coffee under the plane trees then off to the SM for a couple of things on my bike.
@Yviestevie Hi - glad you popped in. I hope the gardening will give you some inspiration! @Dovefromabove Victoria Sandwich. Oh, yes you do!!! May I have some? Just finished the lemon drizzle cake yesterday.
Rather sore abdos and thighs today - Hmmm need some strengthening up methinks.
A little sowing of seeds could well be on the cards this afternoon.
Hello folks, Thanks for all your good wishes, the op went fine and I have been discharged from the hospital. Still a few digestion issues but they think they will improve overtime. Hubby doesn't seem to be improving much which is a shame as he can't do much at the moment and I am finding it quite stressful. Secondborn is really struggling re her divorce and Firstborn has quite a few issues with Merri and Mabel's health.
The gardener is here today and it has inspired me to do a bit of gardening in the front garden so I have tidied it up a bit. Lots of bulbs showing which have cheered me up a bit. Hopefully I wont suffer too much tonight, a dose of pain killers might be in order before I go to bed.
Morning folks. DD lovely garden. Dove belated anniversary good wishes. Grandkids been here since Monday,so just done a quick washload while it's sunny and windy. Eating the last of the lemon drizzle,I made for other grandparents. Hubby picked a ripe lemon in the green house. Got lots of oranges, think an orange cake when mum collects them on Friday.
Sorry to hear of your woes @Yviestevie It sounds as if you, at least, are on the mend. Just don’t overdo it. I wish no one had mentioned Victoria Sandwich. I seem to have a glut of eggs in the fridge to use up, and it’s one of my favourite cakes. OH not too keen on it, so maybe I’ll try an orange cake instead. Not going to help my diet, but can’t waste food! I can freeze a few slices for the plasterers to have with their tea when they come next month.
Cool and grey here but not as dull as yesterday and it is dry. I've been sanding, filling and washing doors this morning ready for their top coats after priming yesterday. Scintillating stuff but necessary.
I've never understood the appeal of a Victoria sandwich, finding it only marginally les boring than a pound cake. Mind you, I got told off on Monday for saying the French don't understand proper wholemeal bread. Our treasurer's parents and brother were all bakers with their own shop. Oops! On the other hand, our treasurer went the other way and never bakes cakes, pastries, bread or biscuits but happily buys industrial stuff.
No cake making here but I'm gearing up to make some cup cakes or similar individual treats for patch soon as we are now allowed to remove masks and have a drink and a snack at our meetings, as long as we are sat down and distanced. Let's hope that too is relaxed soon as we are all triple jabbed.
Hugs to all those with aches, pains, troubles and worries.

That's the problem here @Ergates ... we have a glut of eggs ... we had 7 and another half dozen arriving on Saturday morning. I think the problem is that OH is working every day this week ... when he's at home he usually has a couple of poached eggs on toast for lunch twice a week ....... I've just had Buck Rarebit for lunch so now we only have 6 .......... until Saturday morning when we'll have 12 ...
