  • Morning all,

Very pleased to say I slept right through the night, it is nearly as exciting as when Charlie first did as a baby (well 9 months old - a very long 9 months)! I feel so much better for it too. Thank you @Dovefromabove for keeping everyone quiet.

Last day at work today, just have some sponge puddings, cupcakes and a couple of coffee and walnut cakes to get in the freezer. My chef is absolutely super, but she hates making cakes. I have a young lady doing a 3 week 'stage'  (work experience) with us at the moment, very sweet girl, she enjoyed making iced biscuits yesterday and did a good job of them too. I have my eye on her perhaps for a summer part -timer. She only lives around the corner.

I do hope everyone is ok and toothaches and sore throats etc. are all improving.

Hugs to @Hostafan1 forgot to say well done for being a roadside assistant, and lucky you too, good timing.

@punkdoc, also happy to hear you are out and about in the garden. I read your other thread with interest and like you and others couldn't come to a satisfactory state of mind, couldn't even think how to express it.

I am enjoying some of these really good threads on here lately too, certainly made my time being ill more bearable.

Have a good day all, I might not be back on for a couple of days whilst we get packed, travel and settled into the ski resort, not sure about wifi either, well I am sure it's there, but very expensive, might have to ration it.

Views from the resorts webcam this morning - looking good. Charlie and his friend are so, so excited: https://www.grand-massif.com/webcam-flaine/

The TV report is that our temps today were 8-18c.  No wonder I felt a bit chilled. It’s hard o believe it’s Feb which is usually uncomfortably hot.

Good morning everyone. Up early this morning and now showered and had two cups of tea, cats have been fed, dogs turfed out  to do the necessary, looks dry out there if a little chilly, needing breakfast now to set me up for the day.
Wishing DD a wonderful holiday, you do so deserve it. Hope your weather warms up a bit for you @PatE it does seem to have been very unsettled down your way this winter.
  • Morning everyone,  glad to hear you're so much better DD. Damp start here. Taking my old Allotment pal to get his seed spuds today.

Morning all, so pleased to see those that have had lurgies are on the mend. Lovely picture Pat, we have the the neighbours cat here who is always after the lizards. Had another hospital appt. yesterday to try to get to the bottom of my nosebleeds, Dr says I have varicose veins in my nose- ooh err and thinks allergens are aggravating them, so next step is the allergy clinic.
Frosty start this morning, I am determined to get some plants divided before they get anymore growth on them.
Have a good day everyone, catch up with you all later.
  • Good morning from a lovely sunny Wales.
Glad you slept well, @D0rdogne_Damsel; it does make a world of difference.
I am expecting a call from the doc about my hip, but the email just said  on triage for today, make yourself available for a call. No time slot given, which is a bit inconvenient. I'll take the house phone into the greenhouse with me later.

    Good morning.

The wind has dropped - hooray!!!  But after a sunny sunrise, a heavy fog descended and then lifted as quickly.

I have mended some windbreak on a fence and watered my radishes in their little tunnel.  I think I may have a "doing" day today!!  (in the garden)  @Pat E   Same weather as you 8 - 18°C this afternoon.  Feels like spring!

@D0rdogne_Damsel   A good night's sleep is a wonderful thing.  Shame they are far and few between.  Should stand you in good stead for a week!

So everybody - enjoy your day and maybe rest while you can - lots of work is on its way!

Glad to hear you had a negative PCR @Dovefromabove - and that your awful sore throat is on its way out.
And happy that you too are on the road to recovery @D0rdogne_Damsel and will be able to enjoy your skiing trip.
Good for you to get news of your brother @Lizzie27 - hope he is as comfortable as he can be.

I was ridiculously silly over the date yesterday and at 22 minutes past 10 actually sent myself an email just so I could have a record of the date and time.

We finally got our act together to go to the picture framers yesterday as we needed a frame for the painting I bought from a friend and we decided to get another little watercolour that's been waiting for a frame for ages, as well as frames for a few prints. Now I just have to get them all in the frames.  One of them is a poster of a Paul Klee print bought yonks ago and its enormous.

Off to get my hair cut in a bit.  I love the head massage my hairdresser does when washing my hair.  Bliss.
