Had an amazing holiday - real Paradise Island stuff. Never seen sands so golden or sea so blue. Lots of tropical fish to see whilst snorkelling, and very friendly people wherever we went. The Chicklets came to join us for the middle week, so that was fun too. Am now feeling very relaxed.
Been playing catchup the last few days, but am finally on top of the washing and ironing.
Thoughts are now turning to the garden. Off to buy seed potatoes now, will sow my sweetpeas on Monday and am contemplating the start of the BigBorderTidyUp.
But nothing tomorrow, as we are off to London for the immersive Van Gogh experience 🌻🌻🌻 🪑🪑🪑🎨🎨🎨
@punkdoc - I always found rugby players sexier than footballers - well maybe not the front row - but I just get bored now. As for dressage, there's something so elegant about the way the horse is using all its muscles and natural movements to be so controlled and precise and they enjoy it too.
Feeling incandescent at the mo. OH has just told me he's been down the potager tidying up a bit and has pulled up all the broccoli plants cos there was just one head that had grown since we last picked any just before Xmas. He now understands, or at least as had his ears bashed - about freezing cold and wet January not being prime growth conditions and how, by end Feb or mid March we'd have had some handsome heads again from lovely, healthy, hardy plants. Pillock! Apart from anything else he could have just let the chooks in to eat the leaves. Not like they're going to eat his bloody Brussel sprouts.
Oh dear @Obelixx. that sounds a bit of a disaster. Reminds me of when my OH cut off a long basal from a rose I was training along a wire.
Hope you had a good journey @Busy-Lizzie and are now on your way to Norfolk.
Glad you had such a good holiday @chicky, lovely that your daughters were able to join you as well.
I've been rained off the garden, so busy doing more weeding, head down, bum in the air that I didn't realize I was getting wet! I had hoped to get back out after lunch but it looks colder out now and the wind's got up. I'd quite like to wait until March as well @Dovefromabove, but everything's trying to grow and I have a lot of flower beds to weed. Just noticed that my lovely orange Witchhazel is starting to bloom, that's earlier than last year.
Enjoy the rugby folks, luckily for me, my OH's only into the Grand Prix.
I suppose I might find a rugby player sexy, although I haven't met him yet. Can't say I've ever found anyone who plays team sports very appealing. The only Olympian I ever met is Eddie the Eagle. That may have coloured my view of how sexy your average athlete might be

Glad you're home safe and happy @chicky.
Hub is plugging the fan heater into the greenhouse. I'm getting pretty nesh in my old age!!
