    Hello folks,
My, we've all been busy. I've done two lots of washing and stripped the guest bedroom and remade the bed in readiness for my DIL who's coming to stay for a couple of nights. In honour of her visit, I've used my best and newest pure cotton bedlinen but I refuse to iron sheets and duvets, I only do the pillow cases. In my defence I should point out that a king size duvet is far larger than me!

It's been horribly wet nearly all day although it was dryer and milder early on when I did my usual walk. The chilly wind had abated. I had been hoping to do more gardening but that's on ice today and probably tomorrow as I'm taking a friend out for her birthday lunch. I feel dreadful because I'd missed her birthday last Friday even though it was on the kitchen calendar and I'd bought a card. I think I got distracted with my sister coming to stay the same day so was concentrating on that. I do try to be organized but it doesn't come naturally to me.

Such a shame that you've had to postpone your Iceland trip @chicky, hope your self-isolation ends soon. The greenhouse sounds a good idea though.

Good luck with the radio interview @didyw. I only ever had to do one once, when I was asked to give general financial advice to a local couple who'd won the lottery. I thought I was rubbish but my boss was quite pleased with me.

A lot of violence has been going on in the pond this afternoon. If I didn't know better I would think he was trying to drown her, not mate with her.

Ma used to get very cross about the mallard drakes’ behaviour … the last straw occurred one day when she opened the back door and found this ‘activity’ happening on the doorstep. She picked up the drake mid ‘activity’ and wrung his neck … Pa regarded her with a great deal of respect from then on 😧

  • Evening all,

Beautiful day here, people again using the terrace, so lovely to see.  :)

Funnily enough I have also been sorting out cupboards too, found quite a lot of out of date spices as well.

I am very organised too, get quite agitated when things don't go the way I plan, or more pointedly people don't do as I ask, but I am also very creative and can be 'fluid' if a better idea comes to mind. Today, for no obvious reason, I decided that a Bakewell Tart had to be made, I did do all the other tasks on my list, but threw that in at the end. It did look delicious and hopefully, tomorrow will sell well, although, should I have to eat the leftovers I won't be too disappointed.

Hope you're feeling better soon @chicky, pleased to hear the trip to Iceland can be moved, definitely a place on my 'to do' list. In fact a friend was there last week, but sadly the weather was appalling and they were confined to the hotel for a lot of the time.

Good luck with the radio interview @didyw

I'm not mentioning the ducks.

    Good evening all.

Morning everyone. I’ve never seen ducks behaving like that. We see little ducks on the dam and locals call them “wood ducks”. Not sure what they proper names are.  They seem mild mannered though. 🙄
