    Afternoon all, We woke up to sunshine this morning so I thought oh it's warmer. Oh no it wasn't! Very biting easterly wind full in my face on my usual walk. Later I managed an hour's quiet weeding, fortunately standing up at the back garden terraces. I'm glad I had the foresight to plan them at waist height with paths to stand on below the walls. I was shielded by the house from the wind.

    Glad you got that sorted @Hostan1, should never have got to that stage.

    Evening.

    Very angry to hear that the home has fallen short @Hostafan1.
    Zero excuse to run out of any meds (who used the last few and didn’t order?!) and they can call on call GP and sort a prescription even on a weekend. As for the cream... total shambles. I expect most of the residents need cream so, again, who let that run low?!? They should be hot on skin and continence care and have barrier creams prescribed for patients. Thank goodness you are there for hubby.

    I hope everyone is ok.
    Enjoyed the rugby. Just back from SM, which was very quiet. Cashier said match days always are quiet after about midday.

    Well, it's a tough job, but I managed it, lying on the sofa all afternoon, watching the rugby. Think I need a rest now.

  • Chuckle, @punkdoc I've done pretty much the same, apart from a short bracing walk.
    I'm so sorry @Hostafan1 and I'm so very angry on your behalf. An appalling situation.

    Sunny again here but not warm.

    Been prepping all day.  Ceiling steam cleaned - Vendée style tongue and groove pine so not to be painted if it can be avoided; skirting tiles scrubbed; wood burner pulled out so I can get behind to clean - cast iron so heavy; masking tape applied where needed and cutting in done on 3 walls.   Sofa covers washed - well 2 loads done.  3rd tomorrow.  Oh, and a loaf of bread proved and baked to have with soup tomorrow.  Weary now but Possum is cooking dinner so that's OK.

    Appalling situation @Hostafan1.  Go get 'em.

    Haven't seen any rugby.   Not interested in Olympics but I hope all who are have enjoyed them.

    So sorry to hear about your OH @Hostafan1 totally unacceptable. I hope they have now got the matter sorted, what would have happened if you had not been doing your regular visiting?
    Feeling sad here as I lost my little kitty today. She was 16 and had been having medical problems on and off for over a year. Today she just took a turn for the worse and I said she needed to go find some permanent peace. We have buried her in our animal garden here at the farm alongside her Momma, her brother and her uncle. I still have her other Auntie who is still going strong at 18, but I'm going to miss her a lot as she was a real character and my constant companion on most of my long farm walks or beside me when I was dealing with the other animals and inside the house there was always this pair of eyes following my every move just in case I might have needed her help. Bless her.

  • Well done @punkdoc ... an absolute triumph ... I hope you poured yourself a glass of single malt and put your feet up  ... it's no more than you deserve  ;)

    @AnnaB sorry you’ve lost your cat. 😞

    Just watched the incomparable Ronnie Spector again. I’ve set Carole King and James Taylor programmes to record and I’m under the duvet. Night night all … sleep tight 😴

    So sorry to hear about your poor cat @AnnaB.  I still have several cat shaped holes in my heart.
