I suspect the EADT journalist is confused, not for the first time ... my guess is that they'll be using both the CO2 and the biomass boilers ... it's not a case of either/or .... the CO2 is used to shorten the ripening time ... the biomass boilers provide the heat.
Not sure if I'm pleased or not, but despite the cold the Acers are unfurling their leaves. They seem to have decided "it's April we're coming out regardless " Hope they survive the frost.
I'd nearly given up on it, after the tree-fellers accidentally knocked it down and trampled all over it a few years ago ... I gave it a tidy up and a stern talking to last year ... today my Ribes odoratum/aureum is covered with golden flower buds ... thank you @nutcutlet 🙏
And ... my mixed lettuce seedlings have made an appearance (indoors in the sunny studio, of course).

Mrs Cotto and I organised a Table Top sale and raffle in our church today to raise funds for the D.E.C. Ukraine appeal. We were delighted that the total donated was in excess of £2200 which could rise to £2500 with eBay sales. For a village of 220 people we don’t think that’s bad.
Well done @BenCotto. Still waiting to hear about hosting some refugees here.
Small RTBC but I am inordinately pleased with the 3.5 kilos of limquats I have just harvested from my one small shrub. They are now simmering to make lemon marmalade. Smells gorgeous.
