    My daughter said
" he was pretty keen to get rid of him and hand him back when he started crying"
    I replied
    " I don't blame him . I'd have done the same "

That's the great benefit when they aren't actually 'yours'.  You can wind them up, fill them with E numbers and then give them back to the parents.

If anyone would like to see where I was this morning here's a lovely view of it, Tioram Castle in Moidart, west and south of Fort William. Wee Uff loved his ferreting about on the beach.

Have just picked up my new magnolia "Butterflies" which has beautiful soft yellow flowers.   Saw a magnificent specimen in an arboretum at Nantes in spring and fell in love.

My sister-in-law has a RTBC.  Her daughter and son-in-law return from holiday tonight.  Maybe their dog will now stop its whining which has been almost constant for the past two weeks.  I suspect my S-I-L will decline any future requests to dog sit while they go on holiday.

Back after a week away and my garden is ablaze with autumn colour, now that makes gardening worthwhile.
