That's life eh? Those totally random events that seem to come completely out of the blue. I hope your grandson and his fiancee have a grand life together. Who knows what will happen with my grand-dear-dafter and what serendipitous events will effect her life.

Just up your street, @Hostafan1, but my idea of hell! 18C is a pleasant day for me, even 20C is a bit on the hot side! Have a wonderful time.

I've bought strawberries and raspberries, Scottish of course to go with the cream. Scottish oat cakes at the ready so I'm going to make a mini pig of myself over the next few days. I shall eke the goodies out of course. I'll report back in due course Dove.

Can't get clotted cream here so I use "cultured" cream on scones.  Delish.

My RTBC?  Back in July while surfing on the sofa with my new knee packed in ice, I found a Bramley Seedling on sale at a nursery about 75 mins away from here.  Explained about th eknee and immobility and sent off a deposit.   Wen to fetch it this pm and came home with a Cox's Orange Pippin and a Braeburn too cos they don't have those in teh shops since Brexit and I got a prunus pissardi nigra, a Black Magic agapanthus and a purple and silvery sage green sempervivum.

I had to sit in the back on the way home so we could the tallest ones in, just, but it's amazing what you can get in an old Zafira.   Planting will happen this weekend.
