RTBC yesterday was an outing to the local hills. First time since last year. Just a wee one, and the thighs aren't bad at all today. Smashing, apart from the silly folk who are Mountain Rescue subjects in waiting, especially the two lassies setting out at 2pm, or thereabouts, who were dressed for a day at the beach, and had nothing with them...
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
We went to the Burford Garden Company this morning and looked at some great plants at slightly higher than normal prices, and at furniture that we'd need a 2nd and probably 3rd mortgage to buy. Not that we would have it if it was free, most of it was hideous to us.
Sorry, I digress. Then had a wander round Burford and coffee in the courtyard of one of the many coffee shops. This afternoon I've been sat in the garden reading and basically doing absolutely naff all.
My hip has been hurting badly for several days, I'm waiting for hip replacement, but the walk seems to have helped that too. All in all not a bad day.
Does the warmth help it too @KT53? Nothing wrong with having a quiet day, just tootling around I met a lady yesterday just as I was setting off from the car. I assumed she was doing the same hill, but she'd done it the day before and was off to do one of the others, having camped in her car overnight. Our chat started off with me saying she was bold wearing shorts etc, and as we talked, she confided that she was just glad to be out getting on some hills, and enjoying her visit up here this week with such good weather, because last year she'd been diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and was just trying to cope with all the management of it. Her positive mindset was quite humbling. I thought about her on and off the whole way. I'm not sure I could get anywhere near her wonderful attitude if I was in her position.

@Fairygirl exercise is what really helps. Hurts a lot when I start off and eases with more movement. Hardest part is accepting that it's gonna hurt first. Never was "No pain, no gain" more accurate.
I must tell OH that @KT53, he's also waiting for a hip replacement and is being very good doing all the exercises his physio recommended but walking far is a bit more painful.
Glad you got a walk/climb on your beloved hills @Fairygirl but what silly girls!
I bought a small selection of plugs at the garden centre today and I've potted them up and put them in the porch. No greenhouse. They're healthy. I haven't got 20 or none. . Much better than seeds in a small space. Cosmos Xanthos will be my only seed sowing. Unless I change my mind. PS no teabags😊
@Lizzie27 I take a couple of paracetomol and a 400mg Ibuprofen about an hour before any planned walks and find that helps too. Without paracetomol the hip is decidedly uncomfortable, very quickly. I only take the Ibuprofen if going 'for a walk'. I don't use it when just pottering about or wandering around town.
